About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Federal DoD Account Executive to expand Elastic's footprint within the Department of Defense, with a primary focus on the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS), Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) and Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) and related field activity stakeholders. This role involves managing and growing strategic accounts, building relationships with key decision-makers, and driving adoption of Elastic's solutions for mission-critical initiatives. Responsibilities • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for Elastic's engagement within the Army and related organizations, aligning Elastic's solutions to mission requirements. • Build strong, trusted relationships with key government executives, IT leaders, and system integrators to drive adoption of Elastic products. • Lead the sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiation and close, ensuring customer success and satisfaction. • Collaborate with Elastic's Federal Solutions Engineers to deliver tailored technical solutions and demos that address customer challenges. • Work closely with Elastic's Public Sector leadership, marketing, and partner teams to identify growth opportunities and execute go-to-market strategies. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DoD procurement processes, compliance requirements, and relevant contracting vehicles (e.g., GSA, SEWP, DoD ESI). • Stay informed about Army's mission priorities, IT modernization efforts, and emerging technologies to align Elastic's value proposition effectively. • Consistently achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and key performance metrics. Qualifications • Proven experience in Federal sales, with a strong track record of success in engaging with the Department of Defense, particularly Army or other high-level DoD entities. • Deep understanding of DoD operations, priorities, and procurement processes. • Familiarity with enterprise software, cloud platforms, and data analytics tools. Experience with Elasticsearch or similar technologies is a strong plus. • Demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships with government stakeholders and influence strategic outcomes. • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. • Experience with Federal contracting vehicles and navigating the public sector sales cycle. • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Preferred Qualifications • Existing network within Army and related DoD offices. • Experience working with or selling open-source technologies. • Strong technical aptitude and ability to collaborate with engineering teams. Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary plus a variable component, that together comprise the On-Target Earnings (OTE). On-Target Earnings (OTE) are based on a 50/50 pay mix (base salary / target variable). The typical starting OTE range for new hires in this role is listed below. This range represents the lowest to highest OTE we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's position within the OTE range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
