We treat AI as a software engineering discipline. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our AI features—specifically document intelligence and RAG pipelines—taking them from initial prototype to robust, scalable production services. You will solve for real-world constraints like latency, error handling, and cost optimization. You’ll collaborate with a diverse range of clients to translate business needs into high-performance AI architectures. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise in LLMs and a disciplined Software Engineering approach to ensure our solutions are robust, ethical, and scalable. What You Will Do: • * Architect & Build: Design and implement end-to-end GenAI applications using Python, LangChain, and LlamaIndex on Google Cloud. • Engineer for Precision: Develop advanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines and Semantic Search systems using GCP Vector Search or Pinecone. • Optimize Models: Lead efforts in LLM and Embedding fine-tuning to improve domain-specific performance. • Agentic Ops: Build and manage agentic workflows that automate complex multi-step reasoning tasks. • Collaborate & Innovate: Work directly with customers to understand requirements, suggest novel features, and implement state-of-the-art AI techniques. • Productionize: Apply MLOps best practices to ensure models are served efficiently, monitored, and continuously improved. Your Technical Toolkit: • * Core Languages: Mastery of Python and shell scripting. • AI/LLM Ecosystem: Extensive experience with Google Gemini, GPT-4, or LLaMA; deep knowledge of Prompt Engineering and Fine-tuning. • Data & Search: Expertise in Vector Databases (Vertex AI Vector Search, pgvector, etc.) and implementing Semantic Search. • Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with GCP (Vertex AI) and building scalable software architectures. • Frameworks: Proficiency in LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar orchestration layers. • Mindset: A strong software engineering foundation—you write clean, maintainable code and understand the full SDLC. Basic Qualifications: • * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. • Proven track record of deploying GenAI products to a production environment. • Experience with Classic Machine Learning (neural nets, training, tuning) is a strong plus. • Knowledge of Data Engineering and SQL. Check out these resources in addition to the job description. • > Meet Egen • > Life at Egen • > Culture and Values at Egen • > Career Development at Egen About the job: • Act as a trusted technical advisor to the teams, customer executives, and technical leadership, translating complex technical roadmaps into clear business value and risk assessments • Define the multi-year, enterprise-wide strategy for cloud adoption, migration, and modernization, with a strong focus on GCP services and strategic interoperability with the second cloud platform (Pref AWS) • Establish and enforce global cloud governance frameworks, architectural standards, reference models, and reusable patterns for deployment, security, and operations across all environments • Drive advanced DevOps practices and accountability models • Oversee cloud cost optimization initiatives, and establish technical guardrails to ensure maximum ROI across the multi-cloud footprint. • Architect and lead the implementation of complex, large-scale solutions on GCP, with hands-on experience in leveraging services like GKE, Cloud Dataflow, BigQuery, Cloud Run, Vertex AI, and Cloud Spanner • Design and govern the integration patterns for hybrid and multi-cloud systems, focusing on low-latency, secure connectivity, and consistent Identity and Access Management (IAM) across platforms (e.g., using federated identity or centralized key management) • Define the DevSecOps and cloud security posture, ensuring that designs meet stringent regulatory (e.g., data residency) and global compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) • Lead Proof-of-Concept (PoC) initiatives for emerging technologies like Generative AI (e.g., Google Vertex AI or AWS Bedrock), serverless computing, and define their eventual architecture and integration into the enterprise landscape • Architect a comprehensive visibility strategy to monitor system health and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks across complex cloud environments • Design automated governance guardrails that ensure every deployment is secure, compliant, and cost-optimized by default. • Mentor, coach, and grow a group of Senior/Lead Cloud Engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, and continuous learning • Own and drive continuous improvement of the cloud architecture delivery pipeline, promoting GitOps and end-to-end automation across the development lifecycle • Collaborate with the Data & AI Team and Engineering Leads to ensure architectural decisions align with product roadmaps and business domain goals • Elevate the organization’s technical brand by authoring engineering blogs and whitepapers, and representing the company as a speaker at industry conferences and meetups.
