Maintain cleanliness and safety of school facilities through cleaning, organizing, and reporting issues. | Willingness to learn, physical ability to lift 50 lbs, valid driver’s license, and teamwork skills. | Dwight-Englewood School is seeking an evening custodian to join our Facilities Department. Position: Custodial Worker Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM Reports to: Evening Manager Role Overview: We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Custodial Worker to join our facilities team. In this role, you will play an essential part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities: • Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas. • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed. • Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly. • Dust and wipe down surfaces, windows, and furniture. • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, floor buffers, and pressure washers. • Restock cleaning supplies and request additional inventory when needed. • Follow procedures for the proper use of chemicals and solutions for cleaning and use in equipment. • Shampoo and steam clean carpets and rugs. • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. • Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor spaces, including trash pickup. • Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or damages to the appropriate personnel. • Assist with setting up or taking down furniture and equipment for events or meetings. • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the facility operates efficiently. • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Evening Manager. Qualifications and Requirements: • A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various tasks. • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. • Snow Removal. • A valid driver’s license is required.
