Provide specialized ICU nursing care for adult and geriatric patients, managing complex conditions including multisystem organ failure, ventilated patients, and arterial lines. | Must have at least 2 years ICU experience, valid GA or Compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, CCRN certifications, and experience with critical care procedures and equipment. | Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 15 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCRN Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted Patient ratio experience Charting system experience preferred Description: Diagnoses include but are not limited to Sepsis, ARDS, CHF, Post STEMI, and Vascular. Every other weekend coverage required. No call requirement. Floating may be required within facility/scope of practice as needed. If one major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work. If two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both holidays. If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day. Full compliance required to start on time. If not compliant on time, the pushback is two weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule. Two supervisory references are highly preferred at the time of submission. References must be Manager level or above; charge nurse references are not accepted. Availability to work is required for holidays during the assignment period. Candidates must be available to submit core items and complete/schedule labs within 48 hours of signing the contract. Modules are non-billable and are completed during orientation. Modules vary by specialty and hours are recorded via transcripts. Patients will primarily consist of adults and geriatric age groups. Daily census averages 12 patients, with a total of 18 beds available. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Skills required include managing ports, arterial line management, CPAP and BiPAP management, blood product administration, and caring for ventilated patients. Additional skills include central line management, administration of continuous IV sedation, and interpreting arterial blood gases. Experience in managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure is necessary. Work involving respiratory failure and general intensive care is required. Candidates should have experience with starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning, and managing cardiac drips.
