Review, edit, create, and manage trivia content ensuring accuracy, quality, and style adherence. | Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 2+ years of technical writing experience, mastery of English language, familiarity with AI tools, and interest in broad knowledge topics. | Crowdpurr is seeking a remote part-time, contract Trivia Content Editor and Writer. About The Job Do you love trivia? Do you often ponder great ideas for trivia game topics and questions? Do you love to write and possess top-notch technical writing chops? Are you able to write freely and creatively? Can you expound on any topic even if you're not an expert in it? Do you want your work to be seen by thousands of people? Are you borderline obsessive compulsive about punctuation, spelling, and grammar? Crowdpurr is seeking a remote part-time, contract Trivia Content Editor and Writer who is also a trivia guru. You'll serve part-time as Crowdpurr's Trivia Editor that nobly leads our team of contract trivia writers who produce new weekly content for Crowdpurr's trivia library. Additionally, you'll write trivia content of your own to fill in the gaps. This unique position will both review, proofread, and manage incoming trivia content, but also create new trivia content. You will be the LAST STOP before content gets published to our trivia library for thousands of our customers, and tens of thousands of their trivia players. It must be flawless and accurate. As a Trivia Content Editor, you must possess impeccable execution of written English, being able to both write and proofread written content. Including grammar correction, sentence structure, word choice, readability improvement, rewriting, active voice correction, MLA, etc. You'll apply and enforce our in-house 75-page Trivia Style Guide to make sure all published trivia content conforms to the style that our customer expects. You'll research questions to ensure proper accuracy for correct answers and proper spelling of answer options. Once trivia games are reviewed and approved for publication, you'll follow our SOP to manage the assignment of new trivia topics to the writing team and the publication of completed trivia games to our live Trivia Library. As a Trivia Content Writer, you must know good trivia. You should have a massive range of general, perhaps even useless, knowledge on a wide range of topics. From popular culture, to history, to science, to sports, to current events, and everything in between. If you know the studio albums of Madonna, the paintings of Da Vinci, the periodic symbol for Lead, the capital of New Zealand, the teams from last year's Super Bowl, and Kim Kardashian's first husband... you're perfect! And when there's a topic you don't know, you'll research it using tools like Wikipedia, ChatGPT, and more to then synthesize trivia content. You know how to edit AI generated content for quality and leverage AI tools appropriately. But you're keenly aware that all trivia content must be reviewed with a human's touch to ensure its quality and accuracy. You'll have enough of an understanding on various topics to know when a trivia game topic is missing key questions and needs additional work. Job Responsibilities You’ll do the following core tasks on a part-time weekly basis: • Review and edit multiple incoming trivia games, bingo games, and additional content submitted by our contract writing team for technical writing perfection, question and correct-answer accuracy, and content robustness given a topic. • Creation of new trivia games, bingo games, and additional content including trivia questions, answers, supplemental notes, adding supportive images, fun GIFs, etc. using the tools of Crowdpurr's app. • Brainstorming of new trivia and bingo topics for our weekly assignment list to the writing team including new ideas, trending topics, seasonal/holiday topics, etc. • Management of trivia writing assignments to the writing team, tracking the process of assignment completion, ensuring sufficient content is being approved/produced for the week, etc. • Managing the publication of trivia content to our live Trivia Library and app on a weekly basis. Experience & Skills We're Seeking The following skill requirements are MANDATORY: • EDUCATION: A four-year degree, or better, in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Research, Library Management/Science, or other applicable liberal art. • EXPERIENCE: At least two to three years, or more, of professional technical writing experience where you created written content, manually (not using AI) and proofread/reviewed existing content, that was ultimately published in some form. • MASTERY of the written English language including grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, readability, etc. Your writing must be flawless, beautiful, and grammatically correct. This is the most important requirement of the position. You ARE the last stop before written content reaches a public audience. Trivia content must be PERFECT grammatically, structurally, and correct-answer accurate, or our normally loving customers get very angry. • 100% savvy on computer fundamentals including Windows or macOS, Outlook or Gmail, the Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.). A web browser is your happy place. Everything we do is in a web browser. You will need to be both comfortable and excited to be around technology, including AI, and leveraging in the content creation process. • Excellent keyboardist. You must be comfortable typing fast and accurately. • Excellent management skills, speaking skills, communication, and working with members of the writing team on issues. • The desire to deliver 110% in your work. You go the extra mile every time, not just when it’s needed. Upbeat, positive, motivated, self-starting, work-hard, can-do attitude that is onboard and committed to the Crowdpurr mission. • Detail oriented, taking notes to make sure nothing is missed. • Professional, on-time, alert when working, and not distracted by your phone, texts, web-browsing, videos, etc. The following experience requirements are PREFERRED. • Graphic design and image editing for published content. You know the basics of tools like screen-capturing, Canva, Photoshop, etc. to create or download, resize, and crop images for inclusion in written content. • Experience with either hosting, playing, or writing trivia. Or at the very least, experience with researching and creatively writing on a wide range of topics. You must possess a natural interest in knowledge, random information, the world, popular culture, history, science, movies, television, sports, etc. Compensation & Benefits • On the job training of our tools, process, and the Crowdpurr app. You bring your writing and trivia skills, and we will train you to be a Crowdpurr rock star. • $20 to $30 per hour starting pay, commensurate on experience and qualifications. • Part-time work week, first shift business hours Monday to Friday, no weekends, no overtime.
