In collaboration with the Department Chairs, the Program Manager manages, coordinates and executes curricular operations and program activities. The Program Manager serves as a key liaison between academic and administrative departments. Other responsibilities include assisting the Department Chair with staffing, faculty support, and student advising. This position works closely with the Department Chair, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, and other College departments, as needed. Duties and responsibilities may shift depending on the needs of the program and certain times of the academic year.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAdministration:Create, execute and manage systems and processes, to ensure administrative adherence to College policies and standards;Create and provide monthly reports;Coordinate and manage course scheduling; including faculty and room assignments;Manage and maintain all administrative and student records pertaining to the program;Assist with review, editing and facilitating submissions of course syllabi;Assist with LMS (Learning Management System) support;Coordinate and manage program and course changes;Operations:Manage daily operations of the Program and its inventories and facilities;Assist Chair with vision for Master Plan and space planning;Coordinate and promote student mentorship with faculty;Communicate and liaise with the department Chair, faculty, students and administration;Assist Chair with recruitment and retention of faculty and students;Budget:Assist the Chair with management of the program budget and resources;Assist Chair with capital and operational planning;Event & Program Management:Assist the department with the annual Student Exhibition; to include scheduling juries, student artwork collection (physical and digital), organizing artwork for juries, curation and exhibition set-up, label creation, marketing image submissions, and student artwork pick-up;Coordinate travel arrangements and development for approved faculty, visiting artists and other VIP guests;Marketing:Assist the Chair with social media management (as applicable);Assist Chair with program marketing efforts (as applicable);Assist Chair with hiring of adjunct faculty and coordinate new personnel documentation;Assist Chair with finding substitute faculty as needed;Other projects and duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree preferred or related experience;Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;Excellent writing ability;Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office required and expertise in image management software including Adobe Suite preferred);The maturity to manage confidential student and faculty matters;High energy and motivation to be a self-starter, with the ability to multitask, manage multiple projects and capable of working in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities;A willingness to work with a highly diverse team of talented and creative people;An interest in design, the arts, and the Liberal ArtsWORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a professional office and college campus environment. In collaboration with the Department Chair, the Program Manager manages, coordinates and executes curricular operations and program activities. The Program Manager serves as the key liaison between students and academic/administrative departments, and collaborates with program faculty to achieve program outcomes.
