Lead and execute fundraising events and programs, manage volunteer engagement, and oversee fiscal responsibilities within a designated market area. | Bachelor's degree, 3+ years nonprofit program and event fundraising experience, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to travel and work onsite. | Area Director of Colorado Remote (Must reside in the state of Colorado) Position Overview Be a part of a mission-driven nonprofit committed to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. As the Area Director, you will lead the execution of mission-driven events and initiatives across a designated region, partnering closely with local chapters to drive impact and community engagement. Responsibilities • Plan and execute special events and other approved fundraising activities within the designated market, including any additional fundraising initiatives • Deliver and oversee approved programs within the assigned market, including survivor support services, educational initiatives, and awareness campaigns • Lead the development and ongoing support of the Chapter board and its committees within the market area • Collaborate with Chapter Boards to create and implement a comprehensive business plan and budget for the designated market • Manage all aspects of volunteer engagement within the assigned area, including recruitment, training, placement, and recognition • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and organizations to advance the organization's mission, increase engagement, and support local events and programs • Partner with media outlets to promote events and initiatives, raise public awareness, and support fundraising objectives • Oversee fiscal responsibilities within the market, including vendor relations, cash handling, expense oversight, and coordination with the National Office on accounts payable and receivable processes Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit program implementation and special event fundraising • Proficient in general office technologies and software applications • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Confident public speaker with strong presentation abilities • Commitment to upholding and modeling the organization’s Core Values • Participation in all mandatory meetings and training sessions is required • Ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with consistent on-site attendance • Ability to travel as necessary for meetings, events, and other work-related responsibilities • Frequently required to sit, speak, listen, and use hands for handling objects, tools, or controls • Occasionally required to stand or walk • Must be able to lift and move items up to 25 pounds, such as files or small packages. • Visual requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus • Physical and mental demands listed are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential duties of this role. Through investigative research, policy advocacy, and collaboration with policymakers and communities, POGO works to expose corruption, address abuses of power, and advance reforms that promote transparency, accountability, and equity in the federal government. Be part of a team working to build a more just, effective, and accountable government that protects civil and human rights and serves the public interest. As the Senior Vice President (SVP), you will lead POGO's policy, advocacy, and capacity-building strategy, advancing an integrated approach to influence policy outcomes across the congressional and executive branches and strengthen democratic accountability. In close partnership with the Executive Director and Executive Leadership Team, you will guide the policy agenda, provide strategic counsel on legislative and oversight developments, and foster cross-organizational collaboration to drive impact. You will also represent the POGO externally, building relationships with policymakers and partners to advance policy priorities and support government accountability and reform.
