Together, we are creating an environment where everyone is celebrated and anyone can succeed. The Role We're looking for a Senior Product Designer who thrives in ambiguity and actively shapes product direction through strategic design decisions. You'll use AI-enhanced design workflows to explore and prototype quickly, while also collaborating closely with engineering and product to deliver meaningful solutions. This role also requires proactive learning in a complex, science-driven space, where designers are expected to self-direct their understanding of concepts in order to keep pace with a fast-moving development environment and contribute meaningfully to product direction. Reporting to the Design Manager, you'll work on complex problems that span our platform and business. You'll be expected to balance creative exploration with pragmatic delivery, setting explicit time boxes for ideation versus detailed definition. Your success will be measured by business impact and your ability to accelerate our path to product-market fit. This role requires someone who can operate with minimal oversight, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and ensure impactful design outcomes within startup constraints. You'll help create scalable design patterns, expand our design system, and encourage regular feedback and iteration. Responsibilities Drive rapid experimentation - Use AI-enhanced workflows to build interactive prototypes and accelerate concept feedback cycles, while balancing speed with the clarity needed to ensure concepts translate into real, shippable solutions. Extract customer insights creatively - Leverage product feedback and internal input to inform design decisions, pairing insights with independent research to build the context needed to take action. Lead design-engineering collaboration - Own and facilitate forums that advance our design system, prevent design drift, and build trusted partnerships across teams Influence through demonstration - Create compelling prototypes and presentations that communicate complex functionality to stakeholders and directly impact revenue Balance innovation with delivery - Balance innovation with delivery by setting time boxes for exploration and knowing when to polish, test, or align with traditional delivery timelines in a fast-paced development environment Communicate strategically - Utilize asynchronous collaboration tools while strategically using overlap hours for critical stakeholder alignment and decision-making Ensure implementation quality - Participate actively in UAT, ticket reviews, and sprint planning to maintain design integrity from concept through launch Foster feedback culture - Share work early and often, actively seek input, and provide constructive critique that strengthens team outcomes Streamline design-to-development - Define critical details like edge cases and content requirements in the most efficient format for engineering collaboration Qualifications Product design experience with proven ability to drive business outcomes through design Strong proficiency with AI design tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor) for both ideation and code-based prototyping Deep design systems experience - Building, maintaining, and evolving systems that balance consistency with innovation Strong business acumen - Ability to articulate design decisions as testable hypotheses with measurable impact Remote collaboration excellence - Proven success building relationships and driving outcomes in distributed teams Technical proficiency - Fluent in Figma with working knowledge of HTML/CSS and comfort learning new tools Pragmatic quality approach - Knows where to invest effort for maximum impact, with disciplined testing and follow-through Excellent communication skills - Can present complex concepts to diverse audiences from engineers to executives Growth mindset - Actively seeks feedback, experiments continuously, and thrives in ambiguous environments Passion for climate impact - Genuine interest in applying design expertise to environmental challenges Preferred: Experience with B2B enterprise platforms, marketplace dynamics, or climate technology What sets you apart You measure success by business impact, not just design quality. You see every customer interaction as research and every constraint as a creative challenge. You're equally comfortable showing rough prototypes to spark discussion and polishing critical experiences that build trust. You stay curious, seek clarity in complexity, and build your own understanding of unfamiliar domains—especially when working in highly technical spaces like climate and carbon. Most importantly, you bridge design, engineering, and business strategy seamlessly. Salary Range $127,000-$171,000 a year Benefits While we love our work, our lives aren’t defined by it.
