What You’ve Done Before: We value backend engineers who think holistically about systems, anticipate edge cases, and bring a balance of speed and rigor to shipping code. You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience), and at least 5 years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer with a strong focus on backend development and architecture using TypeScript and Node.js. You’ve built fast, reliable API endpoints capable of handling over 1M requests per day, and you bring a mature approach to automated testing, monitoring, and observability. You’re highly proficient in designing and optimizing relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization, and you know how to enhance performance and scalability through caching mechanisms like Redis. You’re skilled at troubleshooting and problem-solving in fast-paced environments, familiar with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tools, and you collaborate effectively across teams. Above all, you have strong attention to detail and pride yourself on writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code. What You’ll Do: As a Senior Customer Success Manager at Blockworks, you’ll own post-sale customer relationships and help ensure customers see real value from our products during a period of change and growth. This role is hands-on and execution-driven, with room to help shape how Customer Success operates. Every day will look a little different, but in general, you will: Own a Book of Customers: You’ll manage a portfolio of Blockworks customers as their primary point of contact after sale, building strong relationships and ensuring we unlock as much value from our product offerings as possible for our clients. Drive Retention and Renewals: You’ll focus on keeping customers engaged and successful, identifying churn risk early, guiding renewal conversations, and showing customers the ROI of working with Blockworks. Be the Expert: You’ll continually engage with our Product team to maintain expertise around the use-cases, benefits, and features of each of our products, and leverage that knowledge to advise our clients in how best to solve their most burning issues with Blockworks’ offerings. You’re comfortable managing multiple clients at once and operating across the full post-sale lifecycle, even if the exact processes weren’t fully defined. You’ve partnered cross-functionally to resolve customer issues and push toward outcomes that work for customers and the business, all while partnering with Product to translate customer feedback into roadmap insights. You’ve used CRM and CS tools to track account health, manage workflows, and report on performance, and you understand how to translate customer signals into action. Importantly, you’ve likely worked in environments where things were still being figured out, whether that was an early CS team, a growing startup, or a company navigating change, and you didn’t just survive that ambiguity; you contributed to shaping what came next. You have a deep understanding of data principles and architecture that either came from a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or from intensive hands-on work experience. You have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong focus on backend development and API architecture using Typescript and Node.js or Go. You've got demonstrated experience building blazing-fast API endpoints that can handle large amounts of data with over 1M requests per day. You also bring significant experience maintaining and running API endpoints using serverless architecture, including deployment, configuration, and TTFB optimization. You bring proficiency in designing and optimizing relational databases, such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, you've got incredibly strong problem-solving and engineering skills that showcase your attention to detail and foundational ability to write and maintain clean and reusable code. You also have a strong grasp of what makes high-retention, high-engagement content work on YouTube and podcast platforms and can consistently execute at that standard. Above all, you’re extremely organized, proactive, and capable of owning daily publishing workflows on tight turnaround times. It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This: If you have experience launching or relaunching a daily podcast or video show, we want to hear about it.
