Manage bespoke illiquid credit investments, oversee financial performance, negotiate legal and restructuring documents, and lead a team of analysts. | 6-8+ years in credit and restructuring, strong legal and financial modeling skills, experience with complex credit structures, and excellent communication with C-suite. | •Independently manage a wide range of bespoke illiquid credit investments including monitoring of business and financial performance of the portfolio counterparty as well as research and analysis of market dynamics. •Review financial statements, 13-week cash flow statements, covenants •Negotiate and carry out amendments, waivers, consents and any other legal documents pertaining to the asset under management in both out of court and in court restructuring processes within a foreclosure, bankruptcy or litigation strategy. •Negotiate, analyze, propose, and implement restructuring of complex commercial loan secured by CRE; and sale or refinancing of loans and real estate assets. •Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally with C-Suite individuals. •Responsible for monthly valuation of all assigned financings. •Must be a “Player Coach”, with personal responsibility for modeling and managing complicated assets, mentoring and managing financial analysts and less experienced Associates. •Extensive interface with Front Office, Asset Management, Finance and Operations teams, as well as consultants (as needed). •Prepare presentations that will include background information, transaction structure, financial projections, and restructure recommendations. •Work with the Managing Directors of Asset Management to build out the team overtime as the asset base grows. The individual will have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with an ability to think broadly about the business, incorporating continual improvement of processes and procedures with a goal of excellence while focusing on accuracy and efficiency. •6-8 + years industry experience in credit and restructuring roles. •Strong fundamental credit, negotiating, and influencing skills, as well as loan document, knowledge. •Heavy exposure to legal processes, including bankruptcy and UCC foreclosure. Must be able to direct attorneys through the restructuring process. •Exposure to diverse credit structures, complicated structured illiquid transactions, and a broad base of industries. •Ability to write clear and concise memoranda. •Excellent excel modeling skills. •Industry contacts with financial advisors and law firms. •The highest level of personal integrity and ethical standards. Coordinate and manage operational processes for real estate investment transactions, ensuring smooth closing and ongoing monitoring. | Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, strong organizational and communication skills, experience in financial products or real estate preferred, high attention to detail. | Arena is a global investment management firm that seeks to generate attractive risk adjusted, consistent and uncorrelated returns by employing a fundamentals based, asset-oriented financing and investing strategy across the entire credit spectrum in areas where conventional sources of capital are scarce. Through originations and acquisitions of asset-oriented investments across a wide array of commercial and consumer asset types (including but not limited to private direct corporate and commercial real estate bridge lending), the investment team specializes in off-the-run, stressed, distressed, illiquid and esoteric special situation transactions. Arena’s investment team develops and designs investment structures to meet the unique needs of each opportunity. Arena is looking to expand the Real Estate team, through the addition of an Operations Analyst. In this role, this individual will act as the intermediary between all parties, both internal and external, in closing a transaction. This individual will communicate with internal compliance, internal operations, counterparties, banks, attorneys, and other vendors to answer questions and resolve any issues at closing and future funding. On the days leading up to and on the day of closing, this individual will interact with all parties to resolve any problems. •Communicate with internal and external counterparties such as borrowers, banks, attorneys, and other vendors to answer questions and resolve any issues throughout the investment life cycle. •Research and determine operational needs for potential investments •Coordinate a smooth closing process so all investments are funded on schedule •Resolve any operational issues that arise during the investment process •Work with Real Estate investment team to research and source new investment opportunities •Monitor investment performance after closing and assist with any requests •Manage internal workflow progression and Pipeline status updates to ensure various internal teams are fully prepared ahead of scheduled closes. •Participate regularly in weekly closing meetings, funding pipeline calls, and deal-specific working sessions to ensure operational readiness across internal teams. •Address and resolve various internal and external queries related to funding, documentation, deal data, and operational workflows. •Support KYC/AML onboarding and refresh cycles across new borrowers, counterparties, and legal entities by collecting required documents, coordinating with internal Compliance, and ensuring timely submission. •Navigate and manage multiple internal proprietary systems (i.e. pipeline) critical to Arena’s deal execution and servicing processes. •Maintain organized deal folders across internal systems ensuring all closing documents, updated agreements, and funding materials are saved in the correct locations. •Gather all required internal approvals and submit finalized documents for execution through DocuSign. Qualifications: A successful candidate should be detail-oriented and extremely well organized as well as a meticulous and focused analytical thinker. They will have both strong business acumen and excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills. •Bachelor’s degree ideally in a quantitative area (e.g., finance, economics, accounting, engineering) •Experience with financial products is preferred but not necessary •Excellent communication, time-management, and computer skills including use of Word and Excel •Strong attention to detail •Advanced math and calculation skills •The highest level of personal integrity and ethical standards. •A positive attitude, strong work ethic and a desire to work collaboratively across the organization. Assist in financial modeling, research deal opportunities, and prepare investment memoranda for a finance-focused investment firm. | Requires a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, Excel skills, financial modeling experience, and strong communication skills. | Arena is looking to recruit talented recent graduates to its newly established three-year Analyst Program. Our Analyst Program is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing alternative credit investment firm, directly out of undergrad, without the typical requirement of 1-2 years of investment banking experience. Analysts will play a critical role in Arena’s effort to deploy capital across its fundamentals based investment strategy across corporate private credit, real estate, structured product, natural resource, and liquid market verticals. Through on-the-job experience and regular training sessions, analysts will be exposed to various corporate finance and security analysis concepts including credit analysis, financial modeling, business model and capital structure, and fixed income and equity securities, among others. In addition to finance a security analysis, analysts will also learn important application of law with respect to buy-side investing as well as establishing critical corporate soft skills for successful careers in the financial industry. Each analyst will serve as a generalist assisting members of the investment team with industry and company due diligence, financing modeling, investment memorandum preparation, and other ad-hoc projects. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated interest in finance and investing; thrive in an intense, team-oriented environment; and be highly organized, self-motivated, and resourceful. Other majors that are ideal include those that require the ability to communicate ideas well either through presentations or writing (e.g. English, philosophy) Excellent Microsoft Excel (VBA a plus) and writing skills. Experience with financial modeling and transaction structuring / closing. Thorough understanding of basic financial and accounting concepts.
