We’re looking for a capable Intermediate Systems Administrator who can support and optimize our growing IT infrastructure. Role Overview As an Intermediate Systems Administrator, you’ll be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing core IT systems, user support, and infrastructure components. You will play a key role in ensuring the security, availability, and performance of internal systems, while also contributing to automation, upgrades, and ongoing tech improvements. Key Responsibilities Administer and support Microsoft environment (Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, etc.) Recommend and implement security measures and enforce IT policies (e.g., MFA, antivirus, data protection) Support and expand our on-prem VMware environment Proactively monitor system performance, perform routine maintenance, and respond to incidents Recommend process improvement and automation initiatives Set up and maintain user accounts, hardware, and software across endpoints Manage backups, disaster recovery procedures, and patching schedules Support network configuration and troubleshoot connectivity issues Assist in onboarding/offboarding processes, ensuring smooth device and access setup Work with vendors and service providers as needed Document systems, procedures, and change logs for internal use 3–5 years of experience in a Systems Administrator or IT Support role Proficiency securing IT infrastructure from external and internal attacks Proficiency with Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and VMware Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, and network layers Experience applying IT security best practices Experience remotely supporting end users across Windows, Mac, and Android devices Available during East Coast time zone business hours Available for after-hours incident response and an on-call rotation Formal education in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related IT field is a plus. Familiarity with scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Bash is a plus. Comfortable providing helpdesk or similar support as needed is a plus.
