Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, design solutions, and drive technology adoption for A10 Networks products. | Requires 8+ years sales engineering experience, strong Layer 4-7 switching knowledge, technical presentation skills, and ability to travel 50%. | Systems Engineer (CA OR Seattle) A10 Networks seeks a Systems Engineer to partner with our Enterprise Account Executive in a pre-sales and post-sales technical role, showcasing A10 Networks' product solutions-setting up demonstrations and explaining features and benefits to customers and designing and configuring products to meet specific customer needs. In additional to technological aptitude, and the ability to learn quickly and stay current, the ideal candidate's interpersonal, presentation and troubleshooting skills evoke passion and confidence. Your day-to-day Develop and execute a plan that accelerates A10 Networks technology adoption Drive the pre-sales cycle from pitch to demonstration to successful evaluation Provide technical pre-sales support for sales teams Assist, develop, and implement specific account penetration strategies Design complex solutions and be a part of the building of quotations for customer sales presentations Provide guidance/assistance in deployments, technical training, and industry seminars and/or trade shows Develop relationships with the sales teams, partners and customers in support of A10 Networks sales objectives Provide technical expertise and real-life experience in creating solutions, designs, proof of concept and implementation Conduct research and use knowledge of competitive solutions to effectively address and dispel customer objections Educate customers and partners on the A10 Networks product solutions Drive high levels of customer and partner satisfaction Compile and update and track changes to tools and how-to guides Position Requirements 8+ years industry experience in sales engineering Must have a good understanding of the sales process and the roles and responsibilities of a sales engineer 6+ years of Layer 4-7 switching experience and expertise Strong knowledge of Layer 2-3 switching/routing You have been a part of a sales team before, or you want your career to go that direction Strong technical presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written Must be able to thrive in a fast paced, high-energy environment Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and maintain a positive attitude BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent CISSP or other security certifications are a plus! Compensation will vary based on number of factors, including market demand for specific skills, role type, job level, and individual qualifications. This role requires a highly motivated individual capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team. The Sales Engineer will act as a technical expert, helping customers understand, deploy, and maximize the value of A10 Networks’ solutions Key Responsibilities Pre-Sales • Lead product demonstrations and proof of concept (PoC) engagements • Architect, design, and configure solutions tailored to customer needs using A10 products • Respond to customer inquiries and RFPs with clear, technically accurate solutions • Assist in developing formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities • Conduct technical presentations for customers, partners, and prospects • Explain features and benefits to highly technical audiences and non-technical decision-makers alike Post-Sales & Ongoing Support • Support the troubleshooting of customer cases in coordination with A10 Technical Support • Serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers understand how A10 technology drives business value • Stay current with industry trends and product advancements to provide informed guidance Position Requirements • 10+ years of Layer 4–7 switching experience and expertise • 4+ years of pre-sales experience with Tier-1 Service Providers • Hands-on experience with industry-standard ADC products • Technical pre-sales experience, including solution architecture and demos • BS/BA in EE, CS, or related field, or equivalent experience Technical Specialization • LAN/WAN networking protocols and technologies: switching, routing, security (Layer 4–7, Firewall, DDoS) • Layer 4–7 protocols: HTTP, DNS, SSL, caching, compression • Virtualization & containers: VMware, OpenStack, OpenShift, Kubernetes • Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and DDoS detection/mitigation • IPv6 migration technologies and Carrier-Grade NAT Non-Technical / Soft Skills • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation, and presentation skills • Ability to work independently and proactively contribute to the team • Strong understanding of the sales process • Proficiency with desktop tools: MS Office, Visio, Unix, CLI • Quick learner with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities A10 Networks is an equal opportunity employer and a VEVRAA federal subcontractor.
