The Ads Marketing team’s mission is to engage advertisers and agencies around the world and demonstrate the power of the platform as a media and marketing engine – showing how it delivers results at scale. Within Ads Marketing, the Thought Leadership and Narratives team is responsible for shaping the core advertising narrative and bringing it to life at key moments through original thought leadership and a cohesive, cross-team content strategy. Our work includes: • Developing messaging strategy, core narratives, and a consistent content drumbeat • Owning and activating content across speeches, articles, internal messaging “sources of truth,” white papers, and trend reports tied to owned, industry, and cultural moments • Establishing content marketing best practices and serving as an editorial resource to the broader marketing organization The Role This role is responsible for defining the voice of the advertising business on its biggest stages, most important conversations, and highest-profile content. You will shape narratives for senior audiences in compelling ways that clearly differentiate the platform in a competitive landscape. You will partner directly with C-suite and VP-level executives to craft speeches and stories that influence industry perception and set strategic direction. This role is idea for a current or former senior business or technology journalist from a major publication or experienced speechwriter. This is a contract role with an initial term of six months, with a strong likelihood of annual renewal if the engagement is successful. Responsibilities Lead Executive Communications • Write and refine keynote speeches for major global industry moments and flagship events • Capture the authentic voice of senior leadership, translating vision and strategy into powerful spoken-word content Contribute to Core Narratives • Develop “visionary” and “provocative” interpretations of messages that anchor annual strategy across audiences and contexts • Build comprehensive messaging frameworks that unify storytelling across streaming, social, and commerce-related initiatives • Translate complex B2B product capabilities (including AI-driven advertising solutions) into clear, human benefits Drive Thought Leadership • Write high-impact opinion pieces and bylined content aimed at senior executive audiences • Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, Communications, and PR partners to ensure narratives are consistent, accurate, and strategically aligned Minimum Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in speechwriting, executive communications, or senior-level copywriting • Demonstrated experience writing for C-suite executives or senior public figures Preferred Qualifications • A portfolio showing the ability to simplify complex business or technology topics into clear, persuasive stories • Experience in media, advertising, or technology, with an understanding of streaming and social platforms • Comfort working under pressure and adapting quickly during live event production and fast-moving strategic moments
