Full Description

The Logistics Coordinator will be an integral part of a dynamic team of six, including a transportation manager, dispatch manager, and dispatchers. The role involves managing the order book and service hauler base for an assigned territory or region. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for receiving orders, assembling logistics plans, scheduling the delivery of construction and non-construction materials, and soliciting new business. Ensuring timely delivery of correct products and quantities is essential, as is maintaining records of daily production orders and processing accounts payable and receivable. Building and maintaining strong relationships with haulers and carriers is a key aspect of this role. Responsibilities • Receive orders via email, phone, or internal messaging system. • Enter orders into an internal proprietary system, handling approximately 25 to 30 orders a day. • Ensure accuracy and completeness of logistics and material orders. • Manage the daily logistics plan for the assigned territory or region. • Procure sufficient carriers to fulfill all delivery obligations. • Maintain high levels of customer contact to ensure exceptional service. • Communicate effectively with the construction aggregate order management group, sales, and operations manager. • Prepare and maintain delivery data, reports, and records of daily production orders. • Solicit new orders/business that complements the daily logistics plan. • Conduct job site visits to interact with customer contacts and carriers. • Conduct quarterly quarry reviews with relevant stakeholders. • Negotiate rates with carriers and potential dump sites. • Develop annual territory and conduct annual carrier meetings. Essential Skills • Experience in order entry (No particular system experience needed). • Strong customer service skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Punctuality and multitasking capabilities. • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime (2 hours a day / 10 hours a week). Additional Skills & Qualifications • Background in transportation is preferred. • Knowledge of the trucking industry is advantageous. Work Environment The position is based in a corporate office environment, which serves as the headquarters for the Southeast region. The work schedule is from 7am to 5pm, five days a week, with mandatory overtime during the busy season (May - November). The office is equipped with large desks and dual monitor screens, and the work environment is fast-paced. The Logistics Coordinator will be part of a collaborative team consisting of a transportation manager, dispatch manager, and dispatchers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roswell, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
