Role : Mainframe MQ Engineer(Only w2) Location : Remote Minimum 9+ Years of Experience required. Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ Specialist to support Data Center Migration (lift-and-shift) projects involving mainframe (z/OS MQ), iSeries (AS/400 MQ), and distributed (Windows/Linux MQ) platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in MQ build, configuration, and migration activities, with a proven track record in executing large-scale data center relocation projects while ensuring minimal downtime and service continuity. Key Responsibilities: • Plan, design, and execute MQ build and migration activities for DC migration projects. • Perform lift-and-shift migration of MQ environments, including queues, channels, security configurations, and integration endpoints. • Work across mainframe, iSeries, and distributed MQ platforms to ensure consistent configuration and compatibility. • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and network teams to coordinate migration schedules and dependencies. • Troubleshoot and resolve MQ-related issues during pre-migration testing, migration cutover, and post-migration validation. • Implement MQ security standards, SSL configurations, and authentication/authorization controls. • Document migration procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps. • Provide post-migration support and ensure MQ environments are fully operational in the new data center. Required Skills & Experience: • 8+ years of hands-on IBM MQ / WebSphere MQ administration experience. • Strong knowledge of MQ build configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting. • Proven experience in Data Center Migration (lift-and-shift) projects. • Expertise across mainframe (z/OS MQ), iSeries (AS/400 MQ), and distributed (Windows/Linux MQ) platforms. • Experience migrating MQ objects and security configurations across environments. • Familiarity with MQ clustering, high availability, and DR configurations. • Understanding of MQ integration with various applications and platforms. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight migration timelines.
