Posted: Nov 24, 2025 Assistant Director of Development Army Emergency Relief - Arlington, VA business_center Full-time Salary: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 Application Deadline: Dec 29, 2025 Nonprofit Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Development works with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to ensure weekly, monthly and annual goals are measured and met. They will execute on the further build out of the Annual Fund, while also implementing a foundation for a Planned Giving program. Key Responsibilities. • As a senior member of the Development Office, the Assistant Director of Development provides leadership and supervision to all areas of the annual giving program, with the objective of acquiring new donors, renewing previous year and lapsed donors, and building a pipeline of potential leadership volunteers, and major and planned gift donors. • Oversee and manage all aspects of the annual giving program (Retired Campaign and External Acquisition to-date), including goal setting and tracking, mailings, phonathons, metrics and benchmarking, new initiatives and one-to-one and many-to-one solicitation strategies, in coordination with the Chief Development Officer. • Carry a portfolio of 75 Leadership Annual Giving donors in the National Capital Region and manage the work of the Annual Giving Officer. • Lead the creation and implementation of a business plan for Planned Giving as a part of the overall development and advancement operation's strategic planning process. • Oversee the operations of gift processing and acknowledgement, and the establishment of a Prospect Research plan. Directly manages the Development Database Manager and serves as the main point of contact for a variety of contractors providing service, ensuring that AER is a data-driven shop.
