We are seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Southeast team and lead high‑impact transmission and substation engineering projects, strengthen key client relationships, and provide technical and operational leadership across multidisciplinary teams. Work Location & Schedule Remote or hybrid options available based on candidate location, aligning with Asplundh Engineering Services’ support for remote roles across the U.S. Candidates residing in Eastern or Central Time Zones are strongly preferred to support team collaboration, client engagement, and project schedules. Occasional travel for project sites, client meetings, or team collaboration as needed. How You Will Make an Impact In this senior engineering role, you will: Lead civil and structural engineering design across multiple energy and utility market sectors. Direct detailed design for transmission and substation projects, including foundations, structural steel, concrete, and metal building systems. Build, maintain, and expand client relationships with utilities, independent power producers, municipal entities, and renewable developers. Manage project teams, ensuring high‑quality deliverables, adherence to schedules, and alignment with project budgets. Prepare and respond to RFPs and change‑order requests, supporting technical scoping and estimating activities. What You’ll Need to Be Successful Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil or Structural Engineering. Master’s degree in Structural Engineering a plus. Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; ability to obtain multi‑state licensure is a plus. Experience: Minimum 10 years of cumulative structural/civil engineering experience. Proven expertise in foundations, structural steel, concrete, and metal building systems. Industry Standards Expertise: Deep knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ACI, AISC, IBC, ASCE, and ASTM requirements. Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, coordinate cross‑functional work, and communicate effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English. Skills and Technologies Proficiency with industry‑standard engineering software, including: MFAD, LPILE, STAAD, RISA for structural analysis. AutoCAD and MicroStation for engineering design and drafting. Experience with PLS‑CADD or similar tools is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Compensation Range: $104,800 – $140,188 base salary annually. In accordance with applicable law, final compensation will be based on the selected candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, geographical location, and the requirements of the position. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus and profit sharing.
