Provide escalated support and operational maintenance for client environments including virtualization, cloud, and Windows Server management.
7+ years client-facing experience with VMware certifications, advanced PowerShell, cloud infrastructure, Windows Server roles, and strong communication skills.
Job Description: • Provide escalated support and operational maintenance to client environments • Work on client project initiatives, including infrastructure upgrades and new technology deployments • Serve as an escalation point for the Network Operations Center and support engineers • Resolve complex issues and assist non-technical users with remote troubleshooting • Operate and maintain Windows servers in VMware/Hyper-V virtualized environments • Build and manage Azure and AWS environments • Support high-availability and disaster-recovery environments • Analyze server alerts, troubleshoot resource utilization, and identify root causes • Manage Windows Server operating systems, roles, features, security patching, permissions, certificates, logging, backup, and recovery • Manage and troubleshoot VMware vSphere and Hyper-V infrastructure • Implement, configure, and maintain Hyper-V clusters • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on virtualization solutions • Participate in on-call rotations and perform off-hours changes when needed • Perform other responsibilities assigned by management Requirements: • 7+ years of similar work experience in a client-facing role • VMware certifications, including VCP/VCAP • Advanced PowerShell scripting experience • Proficiency in cloud technology infrastructure, networking, and system integrations • Experience responding to client questions and providing timely, professional support • Experience with operational maintenance, system upgrades, and issue troubleshooting • Ability to provide responsive service and quality work products • Strong client service orientation and timely communication • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment • Experience with Windows Server operating systems, including deprecated versions 2008, 2008 R2, and 2012 • Knowledge of Windows Server roles and features, including Active Directory/Entra, DNS, DHCP, file and print services, failover clustering, Remote Desktop Services, Network Policy and Access Services, Web Server, NTP, WMI, and Certificate Authorities • Understanding of Windows Server backup, recovery, security, feature patching, logging, and share versus NTFS permissions • Understanding of Microsoft Certificate Authority hierarchies and certificate issuance and revocation • Understanding of VMware vSphere components, hosts, datastores, vSwitches/port groups, virtual machines, snapshots, VMware Tools, maintenance mode, and host patching • Ability to manage and monitor Hyper-V virtual machines, hosts, networks, and clusters • Ability to participate in on-call rotation and perform off-hours changes • Preferred: Microsoft MCP or MCSA certifications • Preferred: Linux experience • Must be able to sit, stand, and bend for the duration of the shift • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and driving to client work sites Benefits: • Fully remote position • Starting compensation of $100,000 per year • Opportunity to work on client projects involving infrastructure upgrades and new technology deployments • Diversity, equity, and inclusion commitment • Team-oriented environment • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
