System Administrator Location: Glen Allen, VA (Hybrid) Duration: 6+ months Position Summary: Will be responsible for system monitoring, incident response, and production support, ensuring system availability and stability. Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues promptly and maintain operational documentation. Key Responsibilities: • Provide advanced operational and service desk support. • Research and resolve complex issues, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders. • Update and maintain operational documentation like runbooks and playbooks. • Consult with application support and development teams for system changes and deployments. • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation. Must-Have Skills: • 5+ years in enterprise systems monitoring and incident response (Linux and Windows). • 5+ years in production operations support for online, batch, and file transfer systems. • 3+ years in batch job scheduling and execution using enterprise schedulers like BMC Control-M. • 5+ years in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of system issues. • 3+ years in ITIL-aligned operational support. • 4+ years in service desk and customer support. • 3+ years in operational documentation development and maintenance. • 5+ years ability to work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams. • 5+ years strong written and verbal communication skills. • 3+ years ability to support a 24x7 operations environment. Desired Skills: • 3+ years UNIX/Linux administration experience, including CRON scheduling and shell scripting. • 2+ years familiarity with enterprise monitoring and alerting tools. • 2+ years experience supporting large, multi-user enterprise environments. • 3+ years knowledge of application lifecycle support and production readiness practices.
