We are seeking a passionate and versatile Operations and Talent Acquisition Director to join our team. In this role, you’ll lead key initiatives across human resources, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and operational functions, ensuring compliance and driving the growth that defines our success. Job Responsibilities: Talent Acquisition: • Design and execute innovative and agile recruiting strategies tailored to the unique needs of a start-up business, focusing on attracting and retaining top-tier talent for public sector contracts and internal roles. • Manage the entire recruitment lifecycle, including creating compelling job postings, sourcing candidates through diverse channels, conducting screenings and interviews, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience. • Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline to proactively address staffing needs, with an emphasis on hard-to-fill positions and specialized skill sets. • Partner with hiring managers to forecast workforce requirements and align recruitment efforts with short-term and long-term business goals, ensuring alignment with contract deliverables and company growth objectives. • Develop recruitment processes that reflect the fast-paced and evolving nature of a start-up, incorporating creative approaches like virtual job fairs, referral programs, and partnerships with universities and professional organizations. • Establish metrics to track and measure recruitment effectiveness, including time-to-hire, quality of hire, and candidate experience, and use data to continually refine strategies. • Promote the company’s culture and brand to attract candidates who align with the organization’s values, emphasizing Ares’ family-oriented ethos and innovative work environment. • Create scalable recruitment workflows and tools to ensure operational efficiency and readiness as the business expands. • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve talent acquisition efforts, ensuring competitiveness in the marketplace. Human Resources Support: • Partner with leadership to maintain compliance with employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies, ensuring HR practices align with legal and ethical standards. • Manage and enhance the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance evaluations, career development, and offboarding processes, to support a seamless and positive employee experience. • Build out Paylocity into broader HR processes and workflows, leveraging the platform to streamline operations, improve data tracking, and enhance employee engagement. • Develop and implement innovative recruitment techniques and processes to attract top talent and maintain a strong candidate pipeline. • Mentor junior-level staff, providing guidance and development opportunities to help them grow professionally and contribute to the organization's success. • Lead diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives to foster a welcoming and inclusive workplace that values diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Employee Satisfaction and Retention: • Develop and implement programs to improve employee engagement, recognition, and retention. • Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and recommend actionable improvements based on feedback. • Lead initiatives to enhance work-life balance, financial wellness, and professional development opportunities. Operational Leadership: • Oversee and optimize HQ operational processes to enhance efficiency and scalability. • Ensure compliance with government contracting requirements, certifications (e.g., CMMC, ISO), and other regulatory obligations. • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operations and talent acquisition. Compliance and Growth: • Oversee and continuously optimize headquarters operational processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and alignment with business growth goals. • Ensure full compliance with government contracting requirements, certifications (e.g., CMMC, ISO), and other regulatory obligations, including maintaining policies and processes that meet federal and industry standards. • Support the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in managing security clearances, adhering to government security protocols, and maintaining compliance with NISPOM requirements. • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operations, talent acquisition, and employee engagement to drive data-informed decision-making. • Develop and implement operational workflows and tools to streamline internal processes, including contract management, resource allocation, and cross-functional communication. • Collaborate with leadership to refine operational strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives and the evolving needs of a fast-growing start-up. • Lead initiatives to ensure operational readiness for new contracts and business opportunities, including staffing, compliance audits, and infrastructure support. • Drive the integration of technology and tools, such as Paylocity and other platforms, to automate processes and enhance operational efficiency. • Develop and maintain contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted business operations. • Act as a strategic partner to leadership, providing operational insights and recommendations to foster innovation, support compliance, and enable scalable growth. Requirements Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s preferred). • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, human resources, or talent acquisition, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. • Experience recruiting for public sector or government contracting roles is required. Skills and Competencies: • Deep understanding of HR policies, labor laws, and compliance requirements. • Strong knowledge of recruiting processes, including ATS/HRIS systems (e.g., Paylocity, Workday). • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams. • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in operational planning and process optimization. Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity with government contracting, including proposal support and compliance requirements. • Experience in employee engagement programs and workforce development. • Certifications are a plus.
