Job Title: Algorithm Software Engineer – TRK (E5) Location: Huntsville, AL Required Security Clearance: Secret Position Responsibilities As a member of the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (ART) supporting the Missile Defense National Team for Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC), the Algorithm Software Engineer will support the design, development, testing, and integration of Java-based software. Responsibilities include: • Generate software design artifacts and implement Java-based software changes. • Support software design and code reviews. • Support software testing and resolve issues identified during testing. • Present developed software designs. • Participate in Agile planning and execution using established C2BMC processes. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, Deployment, and Warfighter Support, to help ensure mission success. Basic Qualifications • 1+ years of related experience; may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline. • Experience with Java application development or other object-oriented development. • Basic experience designing and developing complex mathematical algorithms. • Experience implementing mathematical algorithms in software. • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments. • Knowledge or experience with full life-cycle development, Agile development, DevSecOps, and systems integration. • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review system behavior issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently in a highly dynamic environment. • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with MATLAB. • Knowledge of software development within an Agile process, including work decomposition and active participation in sprint planning. • Experience developing software and/or algorithms in a structured, process-based integrated team environment. • Knowledge of developing Java-based applications within a DevSecOps framework in a Unix/Linux environment. • Experience developing automated unit tests and verifying requirements. • Experience implementing MATLAB- or Python-based algorithms prior to adoption into tactical Java-based software. • Security+ certification is a plus but not required. Travel Infrequent travel between Huntsville and Colorado development facilities may be required.
