Position Type: Part-Time, Temporary Job Title: English, Math, or Reading ACT Prep Instructor Reports To: Director of Design, Development, & Project Management Contract Length: Project Duration Job Summary: The Virtual Arkansas ACT Prep Instructor facilitates short-term, high-impact courses designed to help students improve ACT test performance. Instructors engage small groups of learners in targeted instruction focused on strategies, time management, and question analysis for ACT English, Reading, and Math. This role emphasizes student engagement, clear communication, and high-quality facilitation over a three-week instructional period leading up to each national ACT exam date. Supervisory Responsibilities: • None Duties/Responsibilities: • Facilitate a 3-week ACT Prep course in an assigned subject (English, Reading, or Math). • Conduct two hours of live virtual instruction per week using provided materials and slide decks. • Provide timely, supportive communication with students and families. • Monitor student progress in Canvas and offer individualized encouragement and guidance. • Maintain the course structure, pacing, and live session schedule as assigned. • Prepare course materials prior to the session start, including but not limited to updating the teacher page, Zoom link, and pacing guide. • Submit end-of-session notes and instructional reflections to the Program Coordinator. • Participate in pre-session onboarding and post-session debriefs as scheduled. • Abide by all Virtual Arkansas and Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative personnel policies. • Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills • Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Efficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines • Ability to engage students effectively in short-term, high-impact learning environments. Education, Experience, and Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree (minimum); Master’s degree preferred. • Active Arkansas teaching license. • Minimum of two years of classroom or online instructional experience preferred. • Experience with ACT content, test preparation, or strategy-based instruction preferred. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Periodic travel requirements • Sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch • Use hands to handle or feel, type, and pick up objects, and reach with hands and arms; • Talk or hear to communicate effectively • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Other Information: • This position will be hired through the Arch Ford Education Cooperative • Telework from home office • Compensation: $80 per enrolled student, up to a maximum of 10 students ($800 per session), minus applicable taxes, retirement, and fees.
