Role description: Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Technician to be a part of our growing team in Hillsborough, NJ. The position to be filled involves work in industrial buildings, on rooftops, and on smokestack platforms on a wide variety of emissions sources. The person will work with our team testing sources of all types using U.S. EPA test methods, chemistry, physics, mechanical principles, and electronics. The successful candidate will help build our business and will foster business relationships with both clients and regulatory officials. Role accountabilities: • Lead test crews in carrying out stack test programs which will involve established USEPA test methods as well as site-specific approaches to complete field studies. Field efforts will include setting up, calibrating, and operating emissions analyzers and sampling equipment at client job sites with a team of experienced personnel. As a field lead the candidate will be expected to maintain and develop client relationships and act as liaison between clients, regulatory personnel and Arcadis management. • The candidate will use our internal library of Test Protocols to prepare new ones for approval by regulatory agencies prior to performing compliance tests and to negotiate them through approval. The candidate will also be expected to maintain and evolve the technical capabilities of our equipment and staff. In addition, this individual will have the opportunity to procure emissions testing projects using the solid client relationships of over 6,000 Arcadians across the U.S. who have air, soil, water, and engineering clients that provide new opportunities for stack testing on a regular basis. • In addition to stack testing responsibilities, this position will offer opportunities within the field of industrial hygiene and ambient air (indoor air quality and outdoor perimeter and community) studies. Must be comfortable with performing elevated work (rooftops, climbing ladders, stack platforms and manlifts) and have the ability to carry/haul equipment. Qualifications & Experience: Required: • Minimum of 2 years of experience in specialist/technical area of work • High school diploma level education or equivalent • Knowledge and proficient use of Excel, Word, Outlook Preferred: • QSTI certification preferred • 40-hour & 10-hr OSHA HAZWOPER training • Manlift Operator Certification • Environmental sampling and / or laboratory experience • BS in environmental or other science Why Arcadis?
