We are seeking a Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in building and scaling Arbor’s commercial footprint. This is a high-impact role for someone who excels at building relationships, uncovering opportunities, and opening doors in new markets. You thrive on researching potential partners, networking with key stakeholders, and generating interest in Arbor’s zero-carbon power solutions. Specifically, you’ll help build and execute Arbor’s commercial strategy in one of two areas: 1. Ensuring offtake of electric power from projects utilizing Arbor’s technology to generate firm, zero-carbon power. You’llidentify and reach out to potential purchasers (hyperscalers, utilities, and industrials), develop and build relationships, and shape our purchase and long-term service agreements. 2. Build an order book for Arbor’s system that’s capable of delivering baseload, zero-carbon power that can be modularly deployed and scaled to hit a variety of power customer needs. You’ll identify and reach out to potential customers (energy project developers, utilities, and industrials), develop and build relationships, and shape our purchase and long-term service agreements. The role is based out of our El Segundo, CA office, but we are open to remote. Travel up to 30%. \n Responsibilities Drive business development activities: researching target markets, identifying and qualifying potential customers, initiating outreach, and cultivating long-term relationships. Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to explore opportunities, shape deal structures, and support negotiations that evolve into commercial agreements. Collaborate with engineering and project teams to shape future product definitions and project structures that address customer pain points. Serve as a trusted partner to external stakeholders, navigating complex, corporate structures. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and/or equivalent experience in a highly technical environment. 3+ years of relevant experience in strategic partnerships, business development, commercial strategy, or market development roles where you’ve built pipelines, cultivated relationships, and converted opportunities to long-term value. Experience working in or developing partnerships for deep tech environments (e.g. advanced hardware, clean energy, industrial systems, or electric power generation), with the ability to adapt quickly to novel technologies. Excellent communicator with the ability to convey novel and complex technical topics to multidisciplinary stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree Direct experience with shaping, developing, or managing power purchase agreements (PPA) or hardware service agreements and industrial partnership agreements. Have a network of large power consumers (utilities, data centers, industrials) or purchaser of power equipment (utilities, project developers, industrials). Experience working in a startup environment.
