Basic Functions The Quality Technician I is responsible for performing basic quality control inspections and tests on materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet Johnson Screens' standards and customer specifications. This entry-level position focuses on supporting the quality assurance process by conducting routine tests, documenting results, and reporting non-conformances. The role aligns with Johnson Screens' values of True North, Integrity, Collaboration, and Doing the Right Thing by ensuring that only high-quality products reach the customer. Duties and Responsibilities • Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. • Perform basic measurements using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. • Document inspection results, non-conformances, and deviations from standards, reporting issues to the Quality Supervisor. • Assist in performing tests on materials and products, including functional and durability tests. • Ensure that all quality records are accurate, up-to-date, and stored appropriately. • Communicate any quality concerns or findings to the production team and collaborate to resolve issues. • Follow quality control procedures and work instructions as per the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). • Assist with calibration of measurement tools and equipment to ensure accurate testing. • Support the continuous improvement of quality processes by providing feedback and participating in team meetings. • Perform various other duties as assigned by the Quality Supervisor. Required Skills • Basic knowledge of quality control procedures and tools. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to integrity and competence. • Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams. • Proficiency in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety and quality standards. • Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping. • Familiarity with numbers, measures, fractions, basic math and control charting • Basic understanding of welding acceptance criteria • Should be able to work closely with fellow employees in a positive manner • Understand and comply with all HSE, Compliance and other Company Policies.
