APTIM is committed to accelerating the transition toward a clean and efficient energy economy, and they are seeking a Cavern Drilling Project Manager to oversee drilling and construction activities for cavern development projects. This role involves planning, executing, and managing all phases of drilling operations while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of cavern drilling projects (salt dome, storage caverns, or solution mining). • Develop drilling programs, workover plans, and cavern leaching strategies in collaboration with engineering teams. • Manage contractors, drilling crews, and service providers to ensure operational efficiency and safety. • Monitor drilling and cavern development performance, making adjustments to optimize outcomes. • Prepare and manage budgets, cost forecasts, and project timelines. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards. • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to reduce technical and operational risks. • Provide leadership in incident prevention and response during drilling and cavern operations. • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, regulators, landowners, and internal management. • Generate technical reports, project updates, and post-project evaluations. Skills • 8+ years of drilling project management experience, with at least 3 years specific to cavern, salt dome, or solution mining projects. • Strong knowledge of drilling engineering, cavern development, and underground storage operations. • Proven track record in managing complex drilling projects with multiple stakeholders. • Familiarity with drilling and completion fluids, leaching processes, and cavern integrity monitoring. • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. • Proficiency in project management software and drilling reporting systems. • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. • Ability to work in remote locations and adapt to changing field conditions. Education Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology, or related discipline (Master's preferred).
