Support automation system development, troubleshooting, and integration in a manufacturing environment.
Requires knowledge of industrial controls, networking, SCADA, databases, and relevant engineering education, with internship or research experience preferred.
General Purpose of Position: Join a team of engineers and scientists tasked with the innovation and development of proprietary and non-proprietary processes and process technologies to be used in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products via additive manufacturing (3D Printing). Participate in engineering design, development, programming, validation, and troubleshooting of automation and process control systems utilized across Aprecia’s development and manufacturing facility. Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Duties/Responsibilities1Participate as a member of a cross-disciplinary engineering development team2Support the specification, configuration, programming, and/or troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Vision Systems, Print Systems or other instrumentation or integrated systems3Support the structuring, development, integration, and maintenance of a digitally integrated manufacturing facility utilizing SCADA, MES, data historians/storage, or other digital software solutions4Develop and utilize skills in one or more of the following areas: industrial controls (B&R, Allen Bradley, Keyence), industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, OPCUA, Serial), SCADA/HMI development (Factorytalk, Ignition) and databases (SQL)5Assist with technical investigations of non-conformance or automation issues6Collaborate with team members regarding projects, development, tools, and training Reporting to this Position: No direct reports Travel: Position may require 0-5% travel Work Shift: This position works days Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Good organizational skills with a collaborative approach to problem solving • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Self-directed and motivated for completion of projects • Strong project management skillset preferred • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, automation, and/or 3D printing preferred Education and Experience: • Working towards a B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Controls, Advanced Manufacturing or a related discipline required • Possess previous research, co-op, internship, or work experience in a related field • Ability to work in a regulated environment • Demonstrated leadership/participation in campus programs and/or community service activities • GPA of 3.0 or above Physical Demands and Work Environment: • Ability to sit at desk for extended periods of time • Extended viewing of computer screens and manual dexterity to operate office equipment • Ability to perform minimal lifting (typically less than 25 pounds), walking, and physical exertion (bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing) specific to physical inventories and related work • Good eyesight and critical thinking to read, create and interpret business documents and spreadsheets GENERAL INFORMATION: The expectation for all employees is to support the company’s mission, vision, culture and core values while adhering to all company policies.
