Dynamics 365 Business Central Project Manager Overview Our client is a multi-entity, family-owned organization undergoing a large-scale ERP transformation, moving from Sage 300 CRE to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. With 20+ locations nationwide and five operating companies being rolled into a unified platform, the organization is targeting a mid-Q2 Business Central go-live and is seeking a seasoned Business Central Project Manager to lead the effort. This is a highly visible, business-facing leadership role serving as the single point of accountability for go-live readiness, stakeholder alignment, and execution across Finance, Operations, IT, and Executive Leadership. While prior exposure to configuration, development, or technical architecture is beneficial, this is a business-facing project leadership role and the Project Manager will not own system build activities or any billable implementation work handled by the external partner. Key Responsibilities Program & Stakeholder Leadership • Act as the single point of contact for internal stakeholders across Finance, Operations, IT, and Executive Leadership • Drive timely responses, decision-making, and issue escalation • Provide executive-level status reporting, risk tracking, and dependency management • Partner closely with financial leadership, including supporting continuity during the Director of Finance’s extended leave Business Central Go-Live Ownership • Lead cutover planning and go-live readiness for Business Central Finance • Coordinate and manage UAT execution and formal sign-off • Own data validation, reconciliation, and data quality control (QC) • Ensure organizational readiness across all business units • Coordinate internal teams while partnering with the external implementation provider Change Management & Communication • Develop and execute a structured change management strategy • Communicate system changes to end users well in advance of go-live • Coordinate training readiness, documentation, and adoption planning • Ensure consistent messaging and alignment across a distributed, multi-location organization Risk & Issue Management • Track internal risks, issues, and dependencies • Facilitate decisions and escalate when required • Ensure mitigation plans are documented and executed Post–Go-Live Initiatives Business Central optimization and expansion, Field Service and resource scheduling, Power Platform applications, Microsoft Fabric deployment, inventory management, and CRM enhancements. Required Experience & Qualifications • Proven experience leading Dynamics NAV / Business Central implementations • Strong Business Central Finance expertise with the ability to interface confidently with financial leadership • Experience managing ERP go-lives in multi-entity, multi-location environments • Demonstrated strength in change management, communication, and executive reporting • Ability to operate independently as a single-threaded project leader • Strong ownership mindset with the confidence to drive outcomes
