For our business, for clients, and for you Lead of Data Engineering & Architecture Description The Lead of Data Engineering & Architecture will lead the design, development, and evolution of the firm’s global data platforms, architecture, and engineering capabilities. This leader will be responsible for building a scalable, secure, and modern data ecosystem that supports fund accounting, investor services, regulatory reporting, risk management, and enterprise analytics. Operating at the intersection of technology, operations, and data governance, this role will shape the firm’s long‑term data architecture strategy, modernize legacy environments, and enable advanced analytics and AI/ML across the organization. It is a high‑impact, global leadership position with significant visibility across executive stakeholders. Job specification Define and own the enterprise data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and regulatory requirements. Lead the modernization of legacy data environments toward cloud‑based, scalable, and resilient architectures. Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across data engineering, integration, storage, and consumption layers. Partner with senior leadership to shape multi‑year data platform investment roadmaps. Oversee the design, build, and operation of enterprise data pipelines, data lakes, warehouses, and integration frameworks. Ensure data platforms support high‑volume, high‑complexity fund administration workflows, including NAV production, reconciliations, pricing, and client reporting. Implement robust data ingestion, transformation, and quality processes across structured and unstructured data sources. Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, automation, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code. Lead the evolution of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency. Oversee API strategies, data integration patterns, and real‑time data streaming capabilities. Evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate them into the architecture where they add measurable value. Ensure platforms support advanced analytics, BI, and AI/ML initiatives. Partner with the Data Governance team to embed data standards, lineage, metadata management, and stewardship into engineering workflows. Ensure data platforms meet regulatory, audit, and operational risk requirements relevant to fund administration. Implement strong controls around data security, privacy, and access management. Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing global team of data engineers, architects, and platform specialists. Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with operations, product, risk, compliance, and analytics teams to ensure data solutions meet business needs. Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business‑aligned strategies. Skills Required: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or platform engineering, Proven track record designing and delivering enterprise‑scale data platforms in financial services; fund administration or asset servicing experience strongly preferred. Deep expertise in modern data architectures (cloud, data lakehouse, streaming, microservices). Strong experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, ETL/ELT frameworks, data modeling, and distributed computing. Hands‑on knowledge of cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern engineering tooling. Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and regulatory requirements in financial services. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. .
