Position: Senior Accounting Manager Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead accounting for our recently acquired property management company in Cleveland, OH. This critical role requires delivering accurate, audit-ready financial statements to our parent company while maintaining excellence in day-to-day AppFolio operations. Reports directly to Director of Operations with a dotted-line relationship to the parent company's accounting organization. Key Responsibilities: Financial Integrity & Rollup Reporting: • Ensure accurate, timely financial statements for consolidation with parent company • Maintain pristine general ledger and documentation to meet external standards • Prepare detailed rollup packages and coordinate with parent company finance team • Implement robust month-end close processes with documented controls Hands-On Accounting Operations: • Perform daily AppFolio accounting operations, including posting complex transactions, maintaining configurations, and resolving discrepancies • Prepare and execute full month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reviews with zero tolerance for errors • Handle day-to-day property accounting tasks, including tenant and owner billings, bank and GL reconciliations, and processing owner distributions • Record and reconcile accounting for property acquisitions and dispositions, including setup, transition entries, and close-out activities Team Leadership: • Supervise in office and remote accountants • Frequent and consistent collaboration with Property Operations leadership team • Establish rigorous review procedures and quality control checkpoints • Develop comprehensive accounting policies and procedures Qualifications & Skills: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA required • 7 years accounting experience with 3+ years in real estate/property management • Preferred prior experience delivering financials in rollup/acquisition environment • Advanced AppFolio proficiency and expert Excel skills • Exceptional attention to detail with zero tolerance for financial reporting errors • Strong leadership and communication skills, across time zones (PST to EST) Compensation & Benefits: • Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 • Cleveland, OH location, hybrid 3-4 days in office • Medical benefits & 401k matching
