What You’ll Do In this role, you will be involved in all tax-related aspects and activities for the organization and our clients. You will play a crucial role in maintaining tax compliance, staying current on new tax laws, and actively managing client relationships. Tax Preparation & Review: Oversee the preparation, review, and final approval of tax returns (individual, trust, and gift) and related documents to ensure accuracy and timely filing. Client Management & Leadership: Lead all aspects of individual, trust, and gift tax return engagements, managing client communication and the overall client relationship. Mentor, train, and guide team members on tax return preparation and other complex tax matters. Tax Strategy & Planning: Develop and Execute tax strategies to minimize client liabilities and optimize their effective tax rate, moving beyond simple compliance work. Compliance & Research: Conduct continuous tax research to stay current on new tax laws and apply them proactively to benefit clients. Manage any tax audits or inquiries, representing the firm and its clients professionally. Issue Resolution: Review and respond to various client tax notices and resolve complex issues. Requirements What You’ll Need to Succeed Experience: 5+ years of experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns, with a strong desire to focus on strategy, planning, and advising clients Public Accounting: 5+ years of public accounting experience preferred Review Experience: 3+ years of experience reviewing individual income tax returns, specifically in Illinois and Wisconsin Designation: Hold a CPA, EA, or JD designation Comprehensive Benefits We deeply value your leadership, talent, time, and commitment.
