Duties • Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable kennels and animal enclosures, ensuring optimal hygiene and safety standards. • Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, watering, bathing, and grooming to promote overall well-being. • Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prepare them for examinations or treatments. • Support veterinary staff with medication administration, including oral, topical, and injectable treatments following strict aseptic techniques. • Assist with laboratory procedures by collecting samples and preparing specimens for testing under veterinary supervision. • Help manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and maintaining accurate records. • Support emergency and critical care situations by monitoring animals’ vital signs and assisting with specialized procedures like catheterization or handling animals in distress. Skills • Previous kennel experience or animal handling background is highly preferred. • Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices and pet care routines. • Experience working in veterinary clinics or with veterinary technicians is advantageous. • Familiarity with veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and medical record keeping. • Ability to handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and equine species confidently and compassionately. • Skilled in animal restraint techniques and administering medications accurately. • Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe procedures.
