AFW Seasonal Part-Time Communications Coordinator (Contract | Temporary Position) To Apply: A cover letter and resume must be sent to jessicah@angelflightwest.org to apply for this role. Angel Flight West (AFW) delivers health and hope using donated flights to serve those with healthcare or other compelling human needs. In the air, Angel Flight West links volunteer pilots and commercial airlines with people whose non-emergency health needs require air transportation to access care. On the ground, volunteer drivers ferry passengers to and from their departure and destination airports. AFW has volunteer-led branches – called Wings – in the 12 western states. Reporting to the Communications Director, the Seasonal PT Communications Coordinator (Contract) manages AFW’s social media presence while providing broader support to the communications team. This role ensures that AFW’s stories, campaigns, and programs are effectively shared across platforms, while also contributing to newsletters, email campaigns, marketing materials, and other communications initiatives. Working collaboratively with Mission Operations, Development and Fundraising, and Outreach teams, this role helps maintain consistent messaging, grow online engagement, and support the overall visibility of the AFW brand under the guidance of the Communications Director. Responsibilities Social Media · Draft, schedule, and post content across AFW’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, YouTube, etc.) – organic and paid · Monitor channels daily and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely, mission-aligned manner · Curate and create visual and multimedia content (graphics, photos, videos, reels, GIFs) using Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools. Experience using Adobe Illustrator/InDesign a plus. · Collect relevant content, including videos, photos, and testimonials, from AFW’s four main audiences: volunteers, passengers, supporters/partners, and healthcare professionals · Track and report key metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth) and provide insights to the Communications Director · Assist with live social coverage of events, campaigns, or flights as needed · Research trends and best practices to improve engagement and reach Broader Communications | Development | Ground Crew Support · Assist with Communications and Development volunteer training for the Ground Crew program · Draft and format content for newsletters, email campaigns, and website updates · Assist Communications Director and Development Director in unkeep of campaign pages, including the Endeavor Awards webpage · Support the creation of marketing materials for fundraising and volunteer programs, events, and partnerships · Maintain and organize digital assets and content archives, including the Beautiful Stories Collection · Support communications committee activities by preparing materials, taking notes, and following up on action items Summary of Qualifications • 1 – 3 years of experience in communications, English, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field; bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred • Strong written communication skills required with attention to detail • Experience with social media platforms • Experience with email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress) a plus • Familiarity with graphic design or editing software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines • Comfortable working collaboratively across teams and supporting multiple stakeholders • Interest in nonprofit work and mission-driven storytelling • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Compensation & Benefits Status: Seasonal part-time, contract, temporary (10-20 hours per week) Term: December 2025 – February 2026, with the possibility of extension Salary Range: $27-$30 per hour Location: Remote
