As a Mechanical Engineer in our Design Engineering department, you will partner with a talented team to develop, test, and modify solutions for the design and manufacture of new capital equipment. This role requires creativity, technical ability, and collaboration to deliver innovative designs that meet performance, cost, and timeline objectives. Principal Responsibilities • Create and maintain detailed 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks CAD software. • Create and maintain engineering documentation including thorough and accurate Bills of Material. • Be involved in research, development, and design of new capital equipment projects. • Coordinate with other departments to review customer specifications and align project objectives. • Participate in periodic design reviews with other engineers and departments to gage project feasibility and progress. • Assist in prototype builds, testing, data collection, and design revisions. • Maintain a sense of urgency and execute tasks to meet project timelines. • Travel domestically (10-20%) to customer sites for equipment support. Education & Prior Experience/Skills Education • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field Prior Experience/Skills • Strong mechanical aptitude • Strong mathematical skills • Some 3D CAD modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred) • Experience designing and integrating machine components into larger mechanical systems • Hands-on mechanical assembly experience is a plus • Must be a quick learner, highly motivated self-starter and able to manage his/her own time wisely • Strong interpersonal, listening, questioning and communication skills (oral and written)
