Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Amyx, Inc. is seeking to hire an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support their AMPS Legacy contract. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing secure and scalable OCI environments while driving cloud strategy and delivering innovative solutions. Responsibilities • Administer, maintain, and support enterprise-grade Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platforms across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments. This includes proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and incident resolution. • Architect and implement secure, scalable, and resilient OCI solutions using best practices. This includes designing hub-and-spoke architectures, implementing automated provisioning tools, and ensuring adherence to security standards. • Lead cloud operations through the OCI Console, CLI, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Python. Automate routine tasks and deployments to improve efficiency and reduce errors. • Enhance cloud security via SSH hardening, DMZs, NAT gateways, firewalls, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and other modern security methods. Maintain compliance with industry cybersecurity standards and government STIGs/policies (e.g., NIST, CIS). • Configure and support tenancy services, including virtual cloud networks (VCNs), compute instances, storage solutions, and databases. • Implement and manage performance monitoring tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Optimize OCI resources for cost efficiency and performance. • Document cloud configurations, operational procedures, and best practices for internal knowledge base and reusability. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all OCI environments. • Collaborate with stakeholders (developers, security, networking, and business units) to assess requirements, develop solutions, and drive operational excellence in cloud environments. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex OCI issues, working with Oracle support and internal teams to identify and resolve root causes. • Stay up-to-date with the latest OCI features and best practices. Proactively identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, security, and scalability of our cloud environments. • Contribute to the strategic planning and roadmap for OCI services, aligning with business objectives and customer needs. Skills • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) administration, support, and solution delivery. • Deep understanding of OCI core services, including Compute, Networking, Storage, Database, and Identity and Access Management (IAM). • Proven experience in architecting and implementing secure and scalable OCI solutions. • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation and system administration. • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls. • Experience with security hardening and compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS, NIST). • Experience with monitoring tools and techniques (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OCI Monitoring). • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. • Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with the OCI platform and its various services. • Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2) related to cloud environments. • Proven ability to design and implement secure cloud architectures that protect sensitive data and applications. • Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and Docker. • Proficiency in using IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning and management. • Understanding of product management principles and ability to contribute to the development and enhancement of OCI services. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with clients and build strong relationships. • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Cloud Operations Associate • Oracle Cloud Architect Professional • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure HPC and Big Data Solutions Certified Associate • Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud Certified Specialist • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
