The Aerospace R&D Laboratory team is looking for an R&D Chemist Intern for summer 2026. The summer internship program typically begins after spring semester and ends before the start of the fall semester. This is an exciting opportunity for students who are highly motivated, enjoy a challenge, and are looking to expand their career. This position reports on-site to our manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ohio. Core Responsibilities: Evaluate and review methods of manufacturing to align with current procedures. Assist pilot scale batch development. Review PLC data and trends. Support implementation of PLC controls in production operations Assist with continuous improvements in current production batches. Position Requirements: Must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Must have completed Sophomore year. Available 40 hours/week Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the summer months. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical team members. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software. Strong Project Management skills. Mindfulness to responsibilities in laboratory safety and best practices. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a team. An understanding of chemistry, materials science, nomenclature, and associated testing. Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
