Amplify is seeking an experienced marketing contractor to spearhead our Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy and serve as a key liaison between departments. This senior-level role requires a strategic thinker with extensive marketing experience who can drive cross-functional collaboration, manage complex projects, and position Amplify as a trusted source for AI-powered search engines and conversational AI systems. Strategic Leadership With help from Performance Marketing leaders, develop and execute a comprehensive AEO strategy to optimize content for AI systems (ChatGPT, Google's SGE, etc.) Ensure Amplify becomes the authoritative source that AI engines cite when answering user questions Provide strategic recommendations on LLM-friendly content formatting and structured data implementation Project Management In coordination with Project Management, lead end-to-end project management for AEO content optimization initiatives Create project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for content restructuring Coordinate resources across multiple teams and stakeholders Track progress and provide regular updates to leadership Agency Partnership Identify, evaluate, and recommend an AEO specialists or digital marketing agency Lead agency selection process including RFP development and vendor presentations Onboard and manage agency relationships focused on AI-optimization expertise Ensure agency deliverables meet quality standards and align with AEO best practices Content & Technical Optimization With internal teams, guide implementation of clear headings, structured data, and authoritative content formats Ensure content directly answers user questions in AI-friendly formats Monitor performance in featured snippets and AI-generated responses Collaborate on technical implementations that enhance AI discoverability Required Qualifications: 12+ years of marketing experience with progression to senior manager level Proven curiosity and understanding of Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), SEO, and content optimization for AI systems Understanding of how AI systems like ChatGPT and Google's SGE consume and cite content Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives Experience managing agency relationships and vendor selection processes Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Data-driven approach with strong analytical skills Preferred Qualifications: Background in content marketing and authoritative content creation Knowledge of LLM-friendly formatting techniques and conversational AI optimization Experience with AI-powered search analytics and performance measurement Previous contractor/consultant experience in digital marketing Understanding of featured snippets, knowledge panels, and AI-generated search results Compensation: The hourly rate range for this role is $85.00-$100.00.
