GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Perform ongoing inspections and quality verification of parts and assemblies during production to ensure conformance to engineering drawings, specifications and approved process controls. Own in-process checks, first article verifications, in-line sampling, nonconformance identification/containment, and documentation to support on-time delivery and product quality for Amphenol's manufacturing operations. Essential Functions: • Perform visual and dimensional inspections per work instructions, control plans and inspection drawings (first article, in-process sampling, final checks). • Use calibrated measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, optical comparators, video inspection microscopes, profilometers where applicable) to verify critical dimensions and tolerances. • Execute first piece inspections • Perform in-process audits and SPC sampling; record inspection data and enter results into MES/ERP/QC systems. • Identify, segregate and document nonconforming material; initiate and route NCRs / RMA / corrective action requests and apply containment actions as required. • Work with production leads and engineering to troubleshoot process issues, provide immediate feedback to operators, and recommend corrective/preventive actions. • Verify tooling, fixtures and process parameters are correct before and during production runs; confirm setup and lot traceability (lots, serials, date codes). • Participate in root-cause investigations (8D/RCAs), support corrective action implementation and verify effectiveness. • Maintain inspection equipment calibration records and notify Quality/Calibration team of out-of-calibration tools. • Support internal and external quality audits, including customer visits and regulatory compliance checks. • Enforce EHS, 5S, safety and quality policies on the line; stop production for critical safety or quality risks and escalate appropriately. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • High school diploma or GED required, technical certificate or associate degree in metrology, quality, manufacturing or related field preferred. • 5+ manufacturing quality inspection experience (adjust upward for senior levels). • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbology, dimensional tolerances and control plans. • Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, basic optical inspection equipment and go/no-go gauges. • Basic computer skills and experience entering inspection/test data into ERP/MES/QC systems. • Strong attention to detail, good written/verbal communication and ability to work on a fast-paced production floor. • Ability to stand, walk production lines, and lift up to ~25-50 lbs occasionally. Required Education and Experience: • 5+ years' experience in manufacturing quality • Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or ASQ certification, IPC-A-610 or equivalent assembly inspection certification preferred. • Experience with SPC tools, measurement systems analysis (MSA/Gage R&R), FAI/PPAP processes and root-cause tools (5 Why, 8D). • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems and common manufacturing documentation practices. • Experience in cable/connector assembly, fiber optic assemblies or electro-mechanical manufacturing is a plus. • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to satisfy AFSI ITAR requirements. Work Environment: • Work environment: Fast-paced manufacturing floor with ESD/clean-area controls, • frequent standing and walking, use of inspection/metrology equipment, and close collaboration with production, Engineering and Quality teams. • PPE required. Physical Demands: • Frequent standing and walking on the production floor, constant fine-motor work for close visual inspection, occasional lifting up to 25-50 lbs, and work in clean-area conditions. • PPE required.
