In this vital role you will drive operational efficiency, ensures compliance, and manages supplier relationships within Amgen’s Global Meetings Program. This role will focus on oversight of in-person, virtual, and hybrid HCC meetings with a concentration on execution, risk mitigation, technology integration, and compliance. The position works closely with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure exceptional meeting experiences, program alignment with organizational goals, and adherence to compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Implement and uphold strategic plans for Amgen’s Global Meetings Program. Provide oversight for HCC meetings, ensuring alignment with business values, compliance, and policies. Compliance and Risk Management: Guide Global Meetings Policy and HCC-specific compliance strategies. Manage supplier processes, ensuring compliance in sourcing, contracting, and operations. Collaborate with Corporate Audit and Compliance teams to mitigate risks. Program and Supplier Management: Manage relationships with suppliers for in-person, virtual, and hybrid HCC meetings, ensuring compliance across the process. Serve as SME and primary point of contact for stakeholders on HCC meetings. Hold regular status meetings with collaborators from pre-launch through program operation. Develop and maintain partnerships with suppliers, hotels, and other contacts. Manage supplier performance, SLAs, and KPIs. Conduction quarterly business reviews with suppliers. Troubleshoot and resolve raised issues from outsourced suppliers and internal teams. Technology and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, incorporating automation and technologies to enhance meeting processes. Ensure data accuracy and program transparency through technology adoption and compliance. Manage data quality control to ensure accurate meeting data capture and reporting. Budget and Financial Management: Oversee program budgets, timelines, and documentation for various meeting types. Training and Development: Conduct training for internal teams and suppliers to ensure effective meeting management. Maintain SOPs for meeting processes and supplier interactions. Communication and Reporting: Maintain proactive communication with partners to manage expectations. Influence change management and develop buy-in for global Meeting Management Program. Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree and 2 years of pharmaceutical meetings experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of pharmaceutical meetings experience OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of pharmaceutical meetings experience OR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of pharmaceutical meetings experience Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge and expertise in Strategic Meeting Management. Working knowledge of hotel sourcing, negotiating and contracting. Working knowledge of compliance, legal and regulatory guidelines related to interactions with health care professionals. Cvent Super User experience. Successful track record in meeting management, supplier management, relationship-building, negotiation and problem solving. Willing to travel 25%. Understanding of Amgen business planning process. Leadership. Change management. Process mapping. Excellent Communication skills. Negotiation skills. Internal/External Relationship Building. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
