This project will help disrupt poverty by building consistent systems and expanding community engagement strategies, allowing the organization to improve volunteer retention, cultivate lasting partnerships, and increase its capacity to deliver high-quality educational and family support services throughout the region. The community capacity-building work will help Beacon Hill Preparatory Institute in its mission of helping students navigate learning so they believe “I can” today and lead tomorrow. Beacon Hill Preparatory Institute provides tutoring to students in grades PK4 – 12th through a structured, supplemental, and focused learning environment. Member Duties : The VISTA volunteer will implement volunteer engagement and community outreach systems that expand organizational capacity, improve volunteer coordination, and cultivate sustainable community partnerships. Activities include: Researching and documenting the existing volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, and recognition processes; Developing standardized volunteer onboarding, orientation, and training materials; and identifying volunteer tracking tools to record hours, schedules, participants, and engagement data to optimize volunteer participation. The volunteer will also document the procedures for the coordination of volunteer scheduling across programs and campuses. Research and develop strategies to increase volunteer retention. Research and develop strategies to build and strengthen relationships with schools, community organizations, civic groups, and local partners to support outreach goals.
