African Economic Development Solutions (AEDS) is a nonprofit CDFI devoted to creating economic chances for African immigrant communities in the U.S. It was established in 2008. AEDS provides culturally sensitive support to entrepreneurs and leaders, enhancing economic, community and social wealth. Position is part of the Literacy Leadership AmeriCorps VISTA program of Literacy Minnesota (LitMN). Literacy Minnesota fosters an organizational culture that is welcoming and inclusive to all. Member Duties : Key activities of our member may include: Assisting the Business Advisor with microenterprise and small business development training; Supporting document intake and gathering data for business development and training purposes; Providing technical assistance related to pre- and post-loans; Conducting and analyzing data related to microenterprises; Gathering and organizing data for reporting purposes; Supporting the coordination of client meetings, preparing outreach materials and reviewing program applications; Assisting business clients with basic financial literacy; and Strengthening clients’ financial knowledge and skills through financial literacy support. The member will gain professional and organizational skills. Furthermore, they will develop networking skills in the marketing field and gain a deep understanding of customer needs.
