About the position: The Senior Manager, Prospect Research will conduct detailed research on prospects and donors and will prepare reports to support fundraising staff with actionable insights as we seek to double revenue and reach 100M people over the next 5 years. Working closely with fundraisers and the Senior Director, the Prospect Research Senior Manager provides intelligence—including donor profiles, capacity ratings, and strategic insights—that help strengthen relationships and support organizational priorities. Key Outcomes: In the first 90 days, the Senior Manager will: · Learn and live the Americares values. · Complete all required new hire onboarding trainings. · Develop a strong understanding of Americares mission and development strategy. · Build foundational knowledge and relationships with key internal stakeholders at Americares, attend and understand various meeting cadences and tasks, and gain fluency in internal systems (CRM, shared drives, templates, trackers, etc.). · Develop familiarity with the existing prospect research systems, data sources, and reporting tools (e.g., CRM database, wealth screening, and research platforms). · Prepare reports on prospects and donors. In the first 6 months, the Senior Manager will: · Serve as a reliable point of contact for prospect research needs across P&P. · Demonstrate ability to proactively and independently execute workflows with minimal oversight. · Work closely with the Senior Director of prospect research to prioritize inbound requests and establish regular communication channels with fundraising teams to understand their prospecting needs. · Evaluate current research workflows, templates, and deliverables to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, accuracy, and impact. · Demonstrate problem-solving, prioritization and cross-team collaboration in the day-to-day work and as the needs of the P&P Services team deepens. In the first year, the Senior Manager will: · Operate independently across all core responsibilities, with strong judgment and attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively. · Anticipate fundraising team and Senior Director needs, while independently managing priorities and proactively suggesting improvements. · Support growth and implementation of a proactive research strategy that continually surfaces new prospects across major gifts, institutional, and corporate giving streams. · Take initiative in team spaces, offering ideas and solutions that increase efficiency across prospect research and CRM reporting. · Implement process improvements for data entry, research requests, and profile maintenance to ensure accuracy and efficiency. · Support the development of dashboards and reports that track key metrics that align with the Development team strategies. Duties and Responsibilities: · Actively model and contribute to Americares values, work culture and mission. · Engage in and contribute to team spaces with openness, global competencies, and a growth mindset Prospect Research: · Lead comprehensive prospect and donor research, leveraging internal data, subscription-based platforms, public sources, and emerging tools to independently assess philanthropic interests, capacity, relationships, and inclination to support Americares’ programs. · Own and drive the prospect research pipeline, ensuring timely, high-quality intelligence that directly informs donor engagement strategies. · Partner proactively with relationship managers to convert research findings into actionable cultivation and solicitation plans that strengthen donor relationships and advance Americares’ fundraising goals. · Manage and execute specialized research projects, including market scans, competitive analyses, and trend assessments to identify new opportunities. · Oversee continuous monitoring of high-value prospects, setting up and managing news alerts and disseminating timely insights to internal stakeholders · Lead wealth screening processes and develop strategic target lists for assignment recommendations, including mid-level portfolios. Prospect Management & Data Analytics · Drive data-informed pipeline development, collaborating with the Senior Director to surface and prioritize high-potential prospect leads. · Own integration of research insights into CRM, partnering with the donor database manager to align data, portfolio assignments, performance tracking, and operational workflows. · Ensure data integrity across prospect records, working with the Senior Associate to manage constituent coding, conduct routine data hygiene, and strengthen portfolio accuracy. · Produce and maintain key reports, ensuring relationship managers have visibility into top prospects and that assignments support organizational fundraising priorities. · Lead development and implementation of prospect management procedures, guidelines, and training to strengthen internal consistency, transparency, and accountability in portfolio management. · Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Degrees and/or experience required for the role: · Demonstrated progressive experience in prospect researching, including analyzing and interpreting wealth and/or philanthropic data These competencies are required for the role: · Demonstrated ability to synthesize wealth, philanthropic, relational, and engagement data into clear strategic recommendations. · Demonstrated ability to spot patterns and opportunities across large datasets to surface new prospects and upgrade pathways. · Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, coordinate with key stakeholders, and support on donor communication in a respectful and inclusive manner. · Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage tasks independently, and ensure follow-through on deliverables with accuracy and accountability. · Excellent prioritization skills, including the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines across various teams and competing priorities. · Demonstrated ability to be solution-oriented and proactively troubleshoot issues, as well as make suggestions to address challenges and improve efficiency. · Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams, navigating differing priorities and minor conflicts constructively and respectfully. US work authorization is required for this role. Candidates must be currently living in and will continue to live in one of the following states/territories: CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, MD, MA, NC, NJ, NY, OR, PA, Puerto Rico, TN, TX, VA, or WA. These competencies would be great to have, but are not required: · Fluency in languages that are spoken in at least one of our core locations (India, Philippines, Tanzania, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Colombia, etc.), in addition to English. · Prior experience in a global nonprofit, global health, or humanitarian aid organization.
