Full Description

Position Summary:  The Assistant Vice President of Executive Communications will lead executive communications and positioning for the association in pursuit of its strategic objectives. The emphasis will be on strengthening industry trust and reputation amongst key audiences, including: consumers, media, policymakers, and other interested stakeholders/coalitions. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a track record of success in high-pressure, high-level stakeholder engagement. Ability to cultivate and maintain strategic relationships across functions and constituencies—both internal and external.  Strong analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills. Principal Responsibilities:  * Define and execute short-term and long-term communications/positioning strategy. Partner across the organization to develop content and deliver on strategic objectives and public policy priorities. * Deliver a wide range of communications formats and strategies across various channels. * Identify new and innovative approaches to communicate to key stakeholders. * Collaborate with Public Affairs team (and other functions) to align messaging, strategy, and outcomes. * Provide strategic positioning/communications expertise and counsel to internal and external audiences. * Manage outside consultants.   Additional Responsibilities:  * Other duties as assigned Qualifications:  Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, history, or a related discipline. Experience: 10+ years of experience developing and implementing communications plans and strategies to a variety of audiences under high-pressure and tight deadlines. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to flex to different writing styles. * Ability to manage a high volume of communication initiatives simultaneously. * Highly collaborative and a self-starter. * A keen eye for detail. * An intellectual curiosity and learning mindset. * Proven ability to develop and execute organizational strategy and translate strategic objectives into measurable outcomes.
