This position also entails management and coordination of multiple projects, informing nursing scopes and standards, engaging multiple internal and external key stakeholders, and leveraging nursing research and evidence-informed resources. What You Will Do: * Supports and analyzes evidence and published research for purposes of integration and translation into practice and/or policy. Assumes accountability for the planning, direction, management, and analysis of related activities. * Communicates knowledge through the Media, position papers, reports, articles, presentations, and other communication venues to inform the association, members, state and organizational affiliates, the nursing community, and the public at large. * Monitors current significant trends, issues and strategies related to assigned or related projects, policies, positions, issues, and areas of expertise. Monitors and evaluates developments significant to health care policy and nursing practice. * Works collaboratively to incorporate evidence, intelligence and research into policy and position statements, regulatory comments, and legislative testimony, on nursing practice, healthcare issues and related topics. * Writes and publishes materials for journals and other print materials including ANE publications. Identifies opportunities, develops, and submits abstracts for poster and podium presentations. As requested, conducts news interviews and provides content to ANE leadership. * Partners with ANE’s product development staff to translate ethical research and best practices into tools and products for practicing nurses. What you bring to the American Nurses Enterprise: Education: * Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field required Related Work Experience: * 10+ years of professional association or related experience required. Skills: * Ability to rapidly analyze and explain complex nursing, and healthcare concepts in a clear and concise manner. \ * Evidence of representing organization at state or national level meetings, effectively communicating positions and overcoming barriers. * Demonstrated ability to time management skills to effectively lead projects and workgroups within and outside of the organization. * Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with staff at all levels and across organizational units. * Ability and agility to adapt to diverse cultural environments. * Proficiency in working with individuals with various backgrounds and levels of knowledge on nursing practice and health policy, including ANA staff, elected and appointed officials and other organizations * Strong proficiency with computer software including Microsoft software applications and other related software. * Must understand and be able to provide guidance, advice and technical assistance for the review and formulation of federal legislative and regulatory proposals. Preferred Skills & Experience: * Evidence of advanced professional development, including but not limited to: * Provider of nursing or healthcare related academic or continuing education. * Track record of increasing responsibility in a work or volunteer capacity. * Formal experience in a consultant capacity * Investigator or co-investigator for nursing or health care related research. * Demonstrated mentor experience(s) in an academic and/or work environment, including volunteer.
