The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is the nation's leading cancer advocacy organization. Together with our charitable partner, the American Cancer Society, we work in Congress, state legislatures and local jurisdictions to support evidence-based policy and legislative solutions designed to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. The Senior Manager, Digital Operations plays a core role in the successful management, execution and tracking of ACS CAN digital campaigns. The Senior Manager will be heavily involved with all advocacy digital platforms, including email, social media, website and mobile. They will be one of two primary experts in ACS CAN’s main technology platform and serve as a point person for daily field staff support as well as play a lead role in developing and leading trainings for staff. The Senior Manager will strategically manage the execution of national advocacy, engagement and fundraising campaigns across all platforms utilizing HTML and platform-specific expertise to program emails, track and segment audiences, post social media and website content, run paid social media advertising and more. In addition, they will lead our data collection, reporting and analysis work, regularly (and proactively) pulling reports, analyzing data and providing recommendations to content strategists for use in future strategy, planning and content creation. Up to 20% of the capacity for this position is being held back to customize the role for a desired candidate, providing that person the opportunity to focus on an area of need that is also of great interest to the candidate. This might include writing digital content, creating imagery, focusing on health equity campaigns, developing presentations or other interests. *** This is a remote position that can be home-based anywhere within the United States. Prior experience and skills with CRM/email marketing tools like Luminate, EveryAction, Phone2Action or other similar tools is highly preferred. Strong advocacy campaign management or email/digital marketing data management of 5 + years is strongly preferred.*** MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Manage production, execution, testing, proofreading and deployment of digital campaigns, including for email, social media (organic and paid), action alerts and website properties. Lead audience segmentation, tracking and make strategic recommendations and audience segments for greater volunteer engagement. Lead the organization’s strategy analysis and optimization for email deliverability and domain reputation. Manage and create content for the organization’s website properties as well as coordinate content projects across different teams of stakeholders. Analyze email, social media and website performance data and incorporate data into trends that will drive strategy and decision-making across digital platforms and teams. Serve as in-house expert on our email marketing platform, creating/updating training materials for field staff and serving as the point person for support and strategic guidance. Continuously monitor industry best practices and changing technology as it relates to email and SMS marketing. Manage various projects to analyze tools, data, and other strategic initiatives to optimize ACS CAN’s use of our technology platforms and marketing content. Manage monthly and annual volunteer activity reporting. FORMAL KNOWLEDGE 5+ years of campaign management or email/digital marketing data management experience; advocacy experience strongly preferred. Experience intensively using CRM/email marketing tools like Luminate, EveryAction, Phone2Action or other similar systems. Knowledge of social media content creation and social media paid advertising processes is desired SKILLS Highly organized with strong time management skills and detail-oriented with the ability to move quickly. Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage many moving pieces of projects across different parts of an organization. Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service attitude and a true interest in contributing to your colleagues’ success. Ability to track and manage budgets. Desired although not required skills: Google Analytics or similar website analytics tools Facebook Ads Manager Very basic HTML Adobe Photoshop Website content management system The starting rate is $72,000 to $82,000 annual. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
