Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Environmental Compliance, the Renewable Natural Gas Attribute Compliance Specialist ensures adherence to regulatory requirements for renewable attribute programs across Ameresco’s Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities. This role manages all registrations, certifications, and compliance activities to maintain program integrity and maximize revenue. Responsibilities: Acquire and maintain certifications for RNG attributes under programs such as EPA Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), ISCC, Canadian Clean Fuel, MRETS, and state Low Carbon Fuel Standards (e.g., California). Oversee production and sales volume reconciliation; ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition. Collect and maintain RNG production data for Quality Assurance Programs (QAP) and RIN generation. Prepare and distribute affidavits for renewable attribute generation. Support new program registrations and monitor regulatory changes, with emphasis on landfill-related RNG. Administer submissions and transfers for RINs and other renewable attributes. Conduct routine reviews and updates to program registrations; identify opportunities to optimize revenue. Maintain compliance records and coordinate with third-party offtake partners. Support President of Renewable Fuels in forward sale of RINs, through developing and maintaining a detailed tracking and inventory system. Routine reporting to management regarding current and projected inventory. Provide recommendations on volume of attributes to forward sell. Provide support for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and monthly revenue accruals. Manage third-party invoicing and contract administration for revenue-related matters. Track and report facility energy use; support procurement and utility account administration. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience preferred with RNG or RIN sales contracts. Additional Qualifications: Direct experience managing EPA RFS compliance activities preferred, including facility registration.
