The Controls Service Specialist will perform technical support for service agreement tasks and ensure that systems are properly maintained and operating correctly. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and conducting training for the customer base.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in DDC control systems. Additional qualifications include experience with BAS controls and knowledge of mechanical systems.

Ameresco is looking for a Controls Service Specialist to cover the Southern Ohio to Lexington, Kentucky areas. This candidate will perform technical support for service agreement tasks and scheduled assignments to ensure that systems covered under a service agreement are properly maintained and operating correctly. Responsibilities: Performs preventative maintenance and diagnostics on building systems and components according to the service agreement terms. Respond to customer service calls either on-site, remotely, or in an emergency situation. These calls could involve any and more of the following: check indicated points of trouble and repair, analyze full system, test components, apply corrective actions to repair system, and pulling points lists and alarm reports. Commissioning of Control and HVAC Systems. Troubleshoot component and equipment problems. Performs system checkout and assists in building systems startup for service installation projects. Manage time to complete assignments on time and within budget. Completes and submits service work orders and time reporting daily. The ability to develop estimates and put together a BOM and SOO for service opportunities. Conducts training on site for customer base. Delivers technical support, coaching and direction to end users and coworkers when applicable. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in the field of DDC control systems for commercial buildings. Additional Qualifications: Hands on experience with BAS controls. Niagara N4 Technical Program Certification. Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits. Computer hardware and software skills. Knowledge of DDC Control Theory and Applications Knowledge of mechanical systems (e.g., RTU’s, AHU’s, VAV’s, VFD’s, Split Systems, Pumps, Motors, Boilers, Chillers and Cooling Towers). Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
