Amazon is seeking a Senior Risk Manager responsible for driving scalable solutions for regulated import compliance across Direct Import Product Compliance (DIPC) and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements. This role owns the end-to-end performance of existing compliance scaling solutions, ensuring programs are operating effectively, meeting regulatory requirements, and supporting business execution at scale. The role partners closely with business teams to understand evolving business needs and incorporates those inputs into longer-term compliance strategy and regulatory readiness planning. The Senior Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring near-term regulatory readiness while designing and driving scalable compliance solutions that enable DIPC and PGA requirements to be met efficiently as the business grows. As regulatory requirements continue to expand in volume, scope, and technical complexity, the role focuses on building durable operating models, mechanisms, and programs that sustain compliance over time. This role is accountable for defining long-term compliance strategy, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and ensuring regulatory obligations are met consistently as the business scales. It is a single-threaded owner role combining strategy, execution, and cross-functional leadership. Key job responsibilities - Own the end-to-end strategy for scaling regulated import compliance, balancing regulatory rigor with operational feasibility - Evaluate existing compliance scaling mechanisms and define their evolution to meet emerging regulatory and business needs - Design near- and long-term operating models that anticipate regulatory change and minimize rework or stranded processes - Own regulatory readiness and execution for new and evolving requirements, including interim solutions where long-term scaling paths are still maturing - Translate regulatory requirements into clear, executable operational paths for internal teams and external partners - Drive timely decision-making under ambiguity in close partnership with Legal, Regulatory Intelligence, and Tech - Own day-to-day execution of existing compliance scaling programs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and operational continuity - Identify scalability limits, operational risks, and failure points, and drive mitigation plans - Balance KTLO execution with forward-looking program design and build - Lead cross-functional forums and deliver clear, executive-ready narratives on risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations Basic Qualifications: - 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience - 5+ years of program or project Management experience - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level - Bachelor's degree or equivalent - Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership - Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable operating models in high-volume environments Preferred Qualifications: - Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification - Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent - Master's degree or equivalent - Experience in working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies - Experience with import compliance, product compliance, or PGA regulatory frameworks Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
