Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr. Buyer/Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic supply chain team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing procurement activities, coordinating logistics operations, and ensuring seamless materials flow across our organization. Your proactive approach and strong understanding of ERP systems will help optimize inventory levels, streamline sourcing processes, and support overall supply chain efficiency. Duties • Assist in sourcing and procurement activities by evaluating suppliers, obtaining quotes, and supporting contract negotiations to secure the best pricing and terms. • Provide day‑to‑day support to the Operations team • Assist the Engineering team with procurement and logistics needs • Utilize ERP systems such as JD Edwards, to process purchase orders, track inventory levels, and manage supplier data. • Coordinate with internal departments to forecast material needs using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) tools and ensure timely delivery of goods. • Monitor inventory levels through inventory management systems and implement inventory control procedures to prevent shortages or excess stock. • Support logistics operations by scheduling shipments, tracking deliveries, and resolving any transportation issues to ensure on-time arrivals as well as ensure timely order placement, tracking, and follow‑up with vendors. • Collaborate with suppliers and carriers to optimize supply chain processes, improve sourcing strategies, and reduce costs. • Manage and process non‑production expense requisitions and support internal customers as required. • Obtain competitive ocean and air freight quotations to ensure cost‑effective and reliable transportation • Coordinate container bookings with freight forwarders • Work closely with vendors to consolidate shipments efficiently • Maintain and organize all shipping documentation • Review invoices for accuracy, including COO, HTS codes, and Section 232 compliance; request corrections or additional information as needed • Collaborate with customs clearance agents to provide required documentation • Maintain accurate procurement records, review contracts for compliance, and assist in developing sourcing strategies aligned with company goals. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field preferred. • Proven experience with ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS or similar platforms is highly desirable. JDE being the preferred. • Strong understanding of materials management, procurement processes, inventory control, and logistics operations. • Knowledge of supply chain management concepts including MRP systems, purchasing procedures, sourcing strategies, and contract management. • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships. • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and pricing strategies is a plus. • Ability to analyze data accurately using ERP systems like AS400 or equivalent tools for decision-making purposes. • Strong attention to detail is a must as well as excellent organizational skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines • Excellent communication and vendor‑management skills • Familiarity with international shipping documentation and customs processes is a plus • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools • Must live within a commuting distance to the office.
