Project Logistics Manager Location: Baytown, TX Division: Industrial Projects & Project Logistics Reports To: Head of Projects – North America Employment Type: Full-time, on-site with field travel Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications Position Purpose The Project Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing complex project cargo movements across domestic and international trade lanes. This includes heavy-lift, out-of-gauge (OOG), and multi-modal shipments supporting energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, and EPC sectors. The role requires leadership across operations, vendor management, HSE compliance, and client communication from origin to site delivery. Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Coordination • Manage end-to-end logistics execution for industrial projects, ensuring safe, on-time, and cost-effective delivery of heavy-lift and OOG cargo. • Prepare and oversee transport plans, method statements, and risk assessments in coordination with engineering and operations teams. • Supervise on-site operations, including loading, lashing, port handling, barge transfers, and job-site deliveries. • Conduct route surveys, feasibility studies, and lifting/rigging reviews as required. • Manage daily project milestones, budgets, and vendor deliverables through structured control plans. Client & Stakeholder Management • Serve as primary contact for assigned project accounts, maintaining direct communication with EPCs, OEMs, and project owners. • Lead project progress meetings and provide milestone reporting, KPIs, and performance analysis. • Coordinate with internal teams across ocean, air, and domestic transport to maintain operational continuity. • Develop strong relationships with carriers, stevedores, and heavy-haul subcontractors to ensure service reliability. Commercial & Financial Control • Prepare project quotations and cost analyses in collaboration with commercial teams. • Monitor cost performance against budget, approve vendor invoices, and manage change orders. • Support business development by contributing to tenders, scope reviews, and execution models for new projects. Compliance, Safety & Quality • Enforce strict compliance with HSE and DOT regulations, lifting standards, and client safety protocols. • Verify proper documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, lifting plans, route permits, and insurance certificates. • Maintain comprehensive project records, audit trails, and photo documentation. • Lead post-project reviews and implement lessons learned for process improvement. • Required Qualifications • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project logistics, industrial projects, or heavy-lift forwarding with a global freight forwarder or EPC logistics provider. • Proven track record managing end-to-end heavy-lift, OOG, breakbulk, and multi-modal movements. • Strong understanding of Incoterms, project documentation, and port/yard operations. • Proficient in MS Office and TMS platforms (CargoWise, SAP TM, or similar). • Exceptional communication and coordination skills across multicultural teams. • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as projects require. Preferred Background • Experience within oil & gas, renewables, EPC, or energy infrastructure projects. • Familiarity with barge operations, vessel chartering, rigging supervision, and route survey coordination. • TWIC card and OSHA-30 certification advantageous. • PMP or PRINCE2 project management certification preferred but not required. Work Environment • Office located in Baytown, TX, with regular visits to ports, fabrication yards, terminals, and job sites. • Standard working hours with flexibility for off-hours or weekend supervision based on project timelines.
